Below is a camera from 2018. I would not be surprised if the iPhone or other Android flagship will eventually have a back that looks like this.
My only issue with smartphones is the relatively tiny image sensor.
I'd want to see a larger 1-inch or 4/3rds image sensor for better image quality derived from hardware rather than pure algo.

Had my 13 pro for a couple of weeks. Absolutely thrilled with it (coming from pixel 6 pro) Love the build quality of this and camera quality, here’s a selection of pets, and walks!
I didn't take this photo, it was taken by a friend of mine with a 13 Pro. My dog Rocky has just stolen her kid's pacifier and ran with it!! Of course he came back to gloat!!
Come on dad! It's just snow! I always love my dogs reactions to the first snow of the season. It's so joyous... Great shot!
