Phones Pixel 5a Announced.

Pixel strength is in its portrait mode. Not seen another phone who can focus on what it’s suppose to focus on so perfectly.

I think even the 12 is a better overall camera than the 5a overall based on some YouTube comparisons. As let’s face it the 5a is missing camera tech from even the 5 but portrait it always has the subject in focus it’s amazing

iPhones 12 pro max portrait is great under good lighting conditions. Using it in a dark room is not an ideal situation to test the camera as it seems to struggle in low light.

Portrait mode on the 12 pro max is great for people where it struggles is of pets. Or should i say not always consistent.

Pixel I think remains the best for portrait mode and by some distance but as an overall camera the 12 pro max is better based on the overall photos it takes but I guess its down to personal preference as if you prefer the pixel look then you will always prefer it

Pixel is still a great camera but there’s a reason people have said it’s lagging behind the competition and it is. It’s why they are getting all new sensors

Luckily this year they could or should take back their crown

The fact the pixel is taking photos at such a great quality now when the 6 pro arrives it’s no wonder people expect it to be the best

Nah, I don't really care about a LED notification light. Never used them on my Galaxy phones. Get too many notifications to memorize which color is which.

Playing with the 5a, and it is a slick, pretty smooth device to use. Stock Android can be so minimal and super cool;

I have the beta installed for 12, but just can't get past being stuck with that google search bar. I prefer duckduckgo. So I went with Nova...

I just bought one off Facebook marketplace with Otterbox Commuter case! It was 370 but after tax and shipping was 414 but is like new supposedly. I am so ready to be back on Android

I am having lagging like crazy on this phone and I don't know if it is android 12 or the phone, my Pixel 3 seemed better than this so I am not understanding what the problem is.

I bought the Pixel 5a at launch, gave to my Wife, and it did seem to lag a bit here and there, or a bit stuttery, Not sure if it's the affordable processor? Or 6GB RAM?
 
SD 845 on the Pixel 3 vs. SD 745G on the Pixel 5a, the Pixel 3's processor is actually better faster, but the 5a is more efficient for better battery. The Pixel 3 was a premium Pixel from Google, the 5a is their budget phone.

Snapdragon 765G vs Snapdragon 845: The Google Pixel 5 could offer worse performance than the Pixel 3

The Pixel 5 is expected to be powered by a sub-premium chipset, which a host of rumors claim could be the Snapdragon 765G. How does a sub-premium SoC compare to the two-year-old Snapdragon 845 on the Pixel 3? Well, it's a mixed bag.

Expectedly, it's in the GPU department that things start to go wild. On AnTuTu, the Snapdragon 845 records a score of 142,235. The Snapdragon 765G falls way short, as it only makes do with a score of 92,142. That's a...rather large difference in performance. The Snapdragon 845 has a 54% GPU advantage, to be exact.

That carries over to 3DMark, where the Snapdragon 845 has a median score of 34,928 in the Ice Storm Unlimited Physics test. The Snapdragon 765G, on the other hand, scrapes by with a median score of 21,545. That's a 62% advantage to the Snapdragon 845.

It's safe to conclude that the Snapdragon 845 remains a more powerful chipset than the Snapdragon 765G. CPU performance is identical, but the older SoC completely dominates the Snapdragon 765G GPU-wise. It's important to note, though, that the Snapdragon 765G is likely a far more efficient chipset. On the flip side, you'll find that the Snapdragon 765G doesn't support 4K@60fps video recording, for example.
 
Interesting I would have just assumed it was worse being so much older
 
My son has the Pixel 5, and my Wife the 5a, and last years Pixel 5 does feel smoother and less laggy than the 5a. Not sure exactly the difference between both phones? 90hz vs 60hz, 8GB vs 6GB RAM.
 
I have still been using this but I don't know if I got a bad one or what but this thing overheats often and has been laggy and other issues, I don't see how this thing gets such praises in reviews unless they only barley use it

I have a 4a 5G and its been a great phone. It's probably getting laggy from the heat. If that's the case, you probably have a bad phone. I would get that checked out. I received a defective Pixel 6 from Google last year. They sent me a replacement which has been fine.
 
It has been getting laggy just yesterday when it was probably 40 degrees and doing nothing but streaming music while browsing. I don't play games on it, just always streaming audio while browsing

Do you have any social media apps running in the background? Do you have any other apps running in the background besides your streaming app and Google Chrome?
 
Well that didn't last, while it isnt getting hot like the previous the replacement did get hot yesterday. I was doing a Duo video call and it got hot and I lost signal. It was probably 70 degrees here and that is all I was doing on the phone. This is unacceptable, my girlfriend's Moto Ace cheap phone doesn't do this
