This is some bias crap. Google stated that it can charge 15 mins of it to get 7hr usage. The phone doesn't need dual lens. It has ois and eis in one len.

Pixel translation uses the phone for translation...meaning the person who talks in foreign language can communicate real time.

I like apple and now google, but i'm calling for what it is.

The article is very biased and opinionated, but it does raise some very valid points. The Pixel is priced ridiculously high for what it is. Not that it matters, since google seems very intent on ensuring that no one can actually buy one.

Any valid points raised are negated by the ridiculous stance the author has taken. Some of the things they write about are absolutely ridiculous and it smacks of hypocrisy as some of the things they moan about like price, lack of removable storage and battery are things that could equally be applied to iPhones.

It’s also interesting how they bash it for not having wireless charging when this is a feature Apple only deigned to include this year. I’m sure last year they didn’t knock the 7 series for not having wireless charging.

I have no interest in the Pixel 2 and agree with some of the criticism, but the article is, IMO, terribly written and reads far more like a rant than an objectively serious piece of analysis.
Quotes like this

That's the prices Google has set for its pedestrian Pixel 2 XL, a phone that lacks the sophisticated hardware, the serious software, the enterprise credibility and the attractive design of an iPhone 8 Plus. Pixel 2 XL, along with its mismatched Pixel 2 built by HTC, look like a couple of plastic, abandoned refrigerators, not sleek smartphones.

just distract from the message the author is trying to convey and make me not want to read the entire article

Not unless you're in one of the 5 territories where Google sells them. Let that sink in. 5 markets in the world is where the world's biggest *internet* company sells their flagship product.

Laughable.

Again, because google ain’t into hardware manufacturing business. They just want to get the phones available in the biggest markets so people know about it the most.

Well to be fair they only recently seem to have started taking hardware seriously. I'm sure when the iPhone first launched it wasn't available in anywhere near as many countries as it is today.

Google don't have the ability to produce on a mass scale but even so it wouldn't be worth their while because let's be realistic the phone isn't going to sell that many units. If it sells 5 million that would be a really good achievement.

Wow, and I thought Rene Ritchie was biased.

Google itself is the most capable at capturing the hearts consumers to a level that rivals Apple. They are getting their pieces into place slowly but surely.

This is very good for the consumer, though some consumers will feel threatened for sad reasons.

Rene was never this bad. At least he attempted to review things and did point out some of the competitors strong points.
Definitely not. Rene is an apologist, but there are things he will admit he doesn't like.
[doublepost=1507733154][/doublepost]yet with all that performance, Siri is still garbage
