Who will you annoy more. AT&T or all the people you're spamming with MMS just so you can. I know if you were sending me tons of messages I'd block your #. No one likes spam :)

And if you're sending it just to yourself to spite AT&T - isn't there a better use of your time?

Joking or not - the thrust of the thread was JUST discussed in another thread if you bothered to search. The fact that there should be more tiers in txt messaging besides 200 to 1500 and then unlimited.

Another MMS thread fail here

So the question is, am I going to intentionally contribute to overloading the network to punish AT&T for not rolling out MMS because of an overloaded network? Yeah, absolutely, great plan. If we do a good enough job maybe the network will get so slow that they'll delay tethering for another year!

MMS is not that special. Taking down AT&T's network, because they took their sweet time about bringing MMS onto the iPhone, is childish.

This should last a day. I personally have no intention of sitting there wasting my battery and time sending MMS to myself.

They deserve it. Late summer is defiantly not sept 25. That would be every kid that started school last week are in "summer" school

i hate to break this but sept 25 is damn close to the end of the summer. Fall does not start until September 22, 2009 at 5:18 pm EDT.

So AT&T is really only 2.5 days late from the promise of Late summer.

summer is from June 21, 2009 to September 22, 2009. Did you want it in the middle of the summer?

Remember you didn't have to buy an iPhone, you made that choice.

I say everyone sends 1024x700 photos that have what we are trying to say typed on them instead of using text. Oh and when you make mistakes feel free to retext the whole thing back. AT&T will have **** bricks before you know it.

you should know that the picture would just get resized down to a smaller size for the network. MMS pictures are not sent at full size but a reduced image size.

personally I think people are being babies about this. They go on one on bitching about AT&T and yet do not say one word about apple epic fail of taking over 2 years before the iPhone could even handle MMS. It annoys me that everyone passes over that fact.

Ok I've had an iPhone 2G for almost the past year and a half. I'm getting a 3G from AT&T soon along with the data plan. My area only has EDGE, but will I still be able to use MMS? Or does it only work over 3G? I have the unlimited SMS option so those MMS will be included as the same as a text if I read right?

MMS messages will work over EDGE or 3G.
As for your messaging plan, make sure it's an unlimited "Messaging" plan and not an unlimited "Text/IM" plan.
There is a difference.

First of all the text message plan Tier offered by AT&T does suck and it's obviously geared at making more money and screwing consumers.... from 200 to 1500 is a huge gap, they should really offer something in between for most consumers..... but then again AT&T is like any other corporation their goal is to make as much money as possible.

As far as MMS is concerned I think its one of those things where most people miss it because they dont have it but will probably use it very little when they do finally get it. Most of the people complaining about MMS will probably use it very very little once the first few days of excitement wear off.

And the winner for the most MMS'd message on Sept 25th?

"I finally have MMS on my iPhone!!! Here's a pic!"

or some variance

f.

And that is the exact reason why it got deleyed 3 days to the 25th. It puts the spike in the data demands on the network to off peak times. It will not cause any delays to business wireless emails or wireless data needs which by far out weight the wants of a bunch of bitchy whinny iphone users.

By Monday it will be all back to normal and not very many MMS will be sent from iPhones.

Still have yet to see a reason why people are bitching about ATT delaying it little while but not going after apple for failing to deliver MMS for 2 years. I think 95% of all the MMS problems go back to Apple failing to deliver it on day 1 over 2 years ago.

I don't think it got delayed. There was no HARD date other than late summer. Technically speaking it's a few days beyond that. But I don't consider that a "delay" - but rather the date picked to roll it out.
