like i said in another post about that problem ,it is no problem as i measured it and the new mac mini finally fit straight into the bottom of the old iMac g3 , so no need for rubber feet , great thought from apple to finally make sure the new mini fits in the imac g3 and all ports will be accesible through the iMac g3's ram flap , so i do not care if it slides on a desk :D

Have you seen the new mini person yet?

Just wondering as if you have made a guess then you may be barking up the wrong tree.... aren't the big black feet on each side rubber???

See my sig..
And no those are not feet, those are finger indentations to help rotate the plate.
It's not my desk, it will slide of any desk. I put a small piece of paper towel and that "fixed" the problem for now.

Had a look in store, very slippery. Piss poor design. Still the fix is quite cheap.....

This is too bad. How could Apple have overlooked this? A fix will probably come with the refresh, along with (hopefully) the i5 processor from the MBP.

the mini is made from a single aluminium block , so you can easy drill holes in to screw it to the desk :D

Solution

I know this is a pretty big bump for this thread but I figured I'd post my fix. I may have gone a little overboard but the little rubber feet work like a charm

I guess you could use velcro but you'd have to stick it on the bottom of the mini and also on the surface of your desk, I like my desk so I don't want the risk of leaving a sticky residue all over it

Blue sticky tack all over the bottom of my brand new mac mini and desk. That's even worse then velcro

Design flaw confirmed, I checked it out at the Apple store today. It will slide around your desk like a hockey puck. What a bummer :(

Lol, some people are very weird. No rubber feet or coating on the bottom of the Mac Mini and that's a design "flaw"? Really?

Who uses the Mini as a hockey puck? What are you doing that makes the computer fly around your desk anyway? Ugh.

I think people just like to complain. If it's really that great of a concern, get yourself some of this ...

Cut a circle out of it and put it under your mini. Move on with life :)

The easiest and cheapest trick

Lightly scratch the rubber legs with sandpaper, problem solved. That's what I did with my Macbook Pro, now it really grips.

Cost: under $2
