As much as I love the magic mouse, its not for gaming. I would suggest something like maybe a logitech or razer mouse.

And for diablo 3, I;ve given up on it. Blizzard is getting annoying with their ridiculous development timelines. I know their excuse is "Quality takes time" and its true to an extent but other companies are able to pull of excellent games in a reasonable amount of time.

Annoying as Blizzard's elusive and time-intensive projects are, D3 looks awesome and their Friends and Family beta just started! Closed beta starts within a week and the game is still out for release before 2012!

The biggest offender using MM for games in my case is wheel zoom via the touch surface. Even the slightest thought of moving ones finger up/down often seems to result in an involuntary max zoom in/out (depends on the game of course).

Otherwise I actually like the MM for most purposes and I haven't experienced the slightest ache or uncomfort. Maybe it's worse for the bear pawed among us as I have quite small hands.

When you have a row of abilities to click I find the Razer Naga hard to beat, though.

Doesn't Control-Click (Not Command-Click) do right click for all Blizzard games?

If so, using a Magic Mouse would not be so much of a problem.

Now, using a trackpad would be hard :p

Just making the point that for Blizzard games, due to control+click = right click, MM would be bearable for Blizzard gaming.

Clearly any other game that requires a right click without providing easy other alternatives would be a different story.

Just making that distinction.

Its cool to see that the Beta finally came out, unfortunately due to the length of time I've kind of lost interest. Maybe once I see some screens start to surface my interest will be piqued again.

I am currently more excited for ZBrush R2 (not a game) and the Shadow of the Colossus and Ico re-releases :) )

Well, people, don't forget that they had to take back the original design of D3 graphics and recreate them since they got very negative feedback of how cartoon-ish and wow-like the original graphics felt like. That's a big part of the delay.

I don't know...I kinda like Blizzard cause they always respected the Mac platform and released a Mac version of their games, even long before OS X. And the WoW client is even better than the PC one.

Now, for the mouse part the OP mentions, save yourself from the frustration and get a logitech mouse. MM is definitely not for gaming - to be honest its lack of precision especially when handled fast, renders it bad for almost everything compared to a more common mouse. I tried it and it is a no go. Also, having to control-mouse click for secondary button will not work for a game. In D3 most probably your left hand will be near number keys in order to press the special skills shortcut, not near the control button.

Oh I had no idea Ico and Shadow of Colossus are going to be released for Mac! Are they out or announced ?

In spite of what the current US Supreme Court may say, a corporation is not just like "a guy". A corporation can actually do multiple independent things in parallel. WOW is a huge cash-generator, and can easily fund other major efforts in addition to its own continuing evolution.

I fully agree with your first sentence. However, I work for one of the four major banks, and let me tell you, even though we do things in parallel, we definitely assign the best developers to the premier projects, and the weaker developers to the less-critical projects. I'm sure this is true at all shops, and I'm sure WoW gets the lion's share of everything at Blizzard.

I can't wait for D3; I actually started playing D2 again to get ready for it. I remember waiting for D2. I just learned to ignore Blizzard until the beta arrives.
