the Siri watch face will suggest music and when I tap it I get an option to play on iPhone. Every time I do that it says there was a problem.

You’ve given us nothing to go on if you’re expecting help. Apple Music? Local music? Restarted? Up to date? Re-paired? More screenshots?

sorry, Siri is suggesting music from Apple Music. I didn’t mention as I don’t think it does that with any 3rd party media sources. Latest software on watch and iPhone (iPhone 11 Pro / Apple Watch 5).

Didn’t work on my iPhone X / watch 4 so when I got the 11 / 5, I set them both up as new devices. It didn’t work so I installed beta iPhone profile and am now running iOS 13.3.1 with no effect.

As far as I can tell this has never worked.

anyone else?

Sure. This is a track from Apple Music that is saved locally on my phone.

I’ve tried to replicate it. To get music to show on my Siri face (don’t normally use it) I had to start the track on my phone then stop. It then showed up on my watch. When I tap on watch it comes up with the now playing screen controls rather than play on iPhone.

Edit: tried with a new track from Apple Music and that behaves the same as above.

Have you removed and re-paired your watch?

I think there are two different functions. The one you describe (which I just used successfully) seems to resume paused music. The one that’s not working seems to suggest music based on the tune of day orbased on listening habits.

see below to illustrate these two functions:

Reddit and google were not helpful, hopefully this forum will be, thanks!!!

Aahh I see, a music ‘Siri’ suggestion. Mmmm never seen one of those but, as mentioned earlier, I’ve don’t use that particular watch face anymore. Hopefully someone else will come along who does.

Try turning wifi off on the watch (not via control center but from settings) and reboot phone and watch and see if that fixes the issue. I had issues with starting music on the phone from the watch too and it ended up being the watch remained paired to the phone via wifi (I was within wifi range of my home) even though the phone was in my pocket--so remote playback of music on the phone seemed to break.

Thanks. I tried that but it didn’t seem to make a difference.

I can start music manually from the watch to play on the phone, it seems to be isolated to the Siri suggestion

I’ve never noticed this option before but it popped up today so I tried it and I’m getting the same error.

thanks for your input. Silly Apple putting in features that don’t even work...
