eh it was late, i was not clear. apologies. not sure why my opinion and experience matters so much to you but here you go: i meant that most of the people i know who work as artists (at work, school, fine artists), cant use it for their professional work as their main machine. The software lacks basic functionality. The hardware is low end for a production machine. i have shared IPP with my work and school community since i have had it. THats been the consensus. They all want it, for doodling. not working. i can replace my ipad with a sketchbook. my cintiq's have no replacement.
i wont be surprised if the cintiq companion 3 ends up being one device that rules them all. already i can run an entire studio off a companion 2, anywhere in the world, its only flaw is the short battery life. if it had good battery life, i wouldnt bother with an ipad pro (this is the only reason i keep it, for when i doodle or do plein air away from the power outlet). Its so much better in every aspect, except the battery life. i can do everything on one device that can do anything or run any software. with no limits!
astropad was a mess when i tired it. Laggy, bad color, quad sampled image. selection tool bugs. Poor performance. its not ready for the prime time, and likely never will unless apple supports it officially and adds hardware video capture to a future Ipad. wish i could get my money back. i dont think im doing anything wrong by voicing my concern that IPP cant be used by myself for production work, and other working professionals i personally know.
The reason i bring all this up, is because i desire ONE professional machine with a great battery life. Its stupid to carry around a tablet and a computer when a tablet can be made to do everything. if others can use Just the IPP for their professional work, thats great- im jealous! But i think apple is not going for that market judging by its choice of hardware and software. The "pro" moniker is bs marketing.
