I'm utterly convinced that with each update my battery life improves.

10.2.3 - 4 hour battery life.
10.2.4 - 4.5 hour battery life.
10.2.5 - 4.75 hour battery life.

Does this mean you actually get longer battery life or that you just get quoted a larger number???? Hopefully the former....

SAFARI Links Take a Break

With my update to 10.2.5, everything is working beautifully and I haven't had a single problem . . . until now. I just noticed that ALL the bookmark links in Safari are gone. I don't even have the generic links and folders that are pre-made when you install Safari for the first time. Has this happened to anyone else?

It means with each update my battery's performance get better. I'm getting almost five hours out of my battery, and it's 1.5 years old! It seems like each Apple OS update makes my 500mhz iBook even better.

I downloaded 10.2.5 the other day, and so far I haven't had any problems. It seems that iTunes loads quicker than it used to.

Rock on! Presumably something is getting more efficient and taking less power. Let's hope 10.3 continues the progression.

WARNING

All other input script methods than roman disappear from the menu in 10.2.5, Japanese/Chinese/Cyrillic keyboard users should stay with 10.2.4

Looks like they stayed put on mine.

As for everything else, can't say I see much of a difference. Got the standard post-update stuff, like the auto-update turning on, and keychain, but can't see any other mess. Unless the slight weirdness with WebDAV is related - I fire up Connect to Server, enter the URL for my linux box, authenticate, and then nothing happens. If I go into terminal and run 'df', I see that the volume mounted, but it doesn't show up in the finder. Relaunching the finder brings up the icon on the desktop. It doesn't happen all the time, though, and I haven't rebooted for a second time after the update, if that matters. SMB still works fine.

Otherwise all seems well.

I beg to differ, I have the same model and it's doing the same thing it was in 10.2.4

My battery never reads right.

Stay away from 10.2.5...crashes a lot

Since installing 10.2.5 my system has crashed several times as have several applications.

I am using a stock QuickSilver with an Epson 890 and a Lexar SmartMedia reader on the USB ports.

This was a rock system until I installed 10.2.5. So I started looking around on various sites to see if I am unique. Nope...... seems to be a lot of folks telling a very similar story.

Until something comes out to resolve the problems I am going to reload and get back to 10.2.4 and be in less of a hurry to upgrade from now on.

You can differ all you want, the fact remains that every persons machine and battery are different. I just happened to get a machine that came with a better than average battery.

I should probably mention that in the year and a half I've had this machine, it's run on battery *maybe* 15 times, max. That's probably why my battery is still going strong.

Problems Problems

So I installed 10.2.5 on my powerbook G4 1GHZ, and now my volume and contrast buttons do not work. The software does not respond to the power button either, and I cannot shutdown, logoff or restart from the apple menu. Talking about a clusterf*ck. 10.2.4 and every other update has been flawless, but now I am pissed.
