We made a loud and long alarm possible with an app called Calendar Alarm, now available in the app store. The alarm syncs with the standard Calendar and other calendars supported by the iPhone/iPod. There are 12 sounds to choose between and the sounds rings for 10 or 30 seconds. In the upcoming version (september2010) a repeat/sleep will be added. However, my iPhone calendar absolutely must be able to make my iPhone buzz, to notify me of upcoming events.

I can't find a single app in the app store which clearly will make my iPhone buzz for an upcoming event. I can find apps that allude to it, apps that say "Push notification of upcoming events coming soon", and apps that allude to placing the events into the iPhone's innate calendar, but I am not sure any of them will actually do what I want.

What I want:
1. A calendar where I type in appointments
2. My iPhone buzzes when an appointment is coming up

Who makes that?

We made Calendar Alarm. The only thing you have to do is start or activate the Calendar Alarm app, after you have synced or updated your iPhone Calendar. Calendar Alarm then sets local notifications and adds an alarm with a sound of your choice, whereafter you can switch to another app. You can also enter your events directly into Calendar Alarm.
