Please tell me why I keep switching to Android!??????

Over the years I've mostly owned all the iPhones and on occasion get bored and switch to Android. Each time...the Android (I've owned a few Notes and currently the S7 Edge) end up pissing me off after a while and back to Apple I go.

Currently I got my S7E and had it less than a month. My biggest complaint (and problem) is the battery drain. It's BAD!!! Really bad. Also the keyboard sucks and autocorrect does weird crap and is annoying.

I do like being able to customize the Android (what you can't do much of with Apple). But Apple has always worked for me and no major issues.

Why do I have these "breakups" with my iPhone only to run back to them...lol! I've had this S7 only a month and already wanting to go back to Apple. I am even willing to pay the money to get this phone half paid off so I can do an upgrade to the iPhone 7 when it comes out....

Basically, Adroid is the sexy, dangerous OS that you're attracted to, but iOS is the safe, reliable one that you should probably settle down with. It may be boring at times, but it will take care of you.

I'm the same exact way. Had every iPhone except the 3GS. In between all them I had a HTC Vivid, One, a couple of Notes, and most recently the S7E before switching back to the 6S+..

The androids just offer that "new" fresh stuff...but I agree with above post that Apple will always take care of you in the end. Well this little venture of mine to my S7E will now cost me a few hundred bucks in order to "upgrade" to the iPhone 7 when it eventually launches doh....!

How long are you keeping each device? It sounds to me you are easily bored, can afford to buy phones, and so you do just that.

Years ago I swapped phones more often. I just don't have the time, but mostly just the will, anymore.

I've had the every non-s iPhone since the 1st generation. Don't think I'll ever fully go away from iOS. Not sure I will go with the iPhone 7 from what I see from leaks so I may skip this round.

I have the S7 Edge currently... and I like it. I don't have issues with battery drain... for me... it's just as good as my 6+. I don't mid-day charge... so it's off the charger at 7am and back in the charger when I go to sleep around 11pm. I average +40gb of data per month... so I think I'm a heavy user. I'm at 14gb 7days into my cycle... and I think the lowest it goes before going into the charger is 20%. Today, it's been a light day... and I'm at 65% right now (9:40pm)... and it's been off the charger since 7am.

A lot of things I like the S7 Edge... but it's not perfect. I like the a lot of things on iOS too... but not perfect either. I always jailbreak for things certain tweaks I prefer to use on iOS... my iPhone is rarely stock iOS if I can help it. I'll most likely stick with the S7 Edge this year since it feels more like an upgrade compared to the rumored iPhone 7, but most likely switch back for the anniversary 2017 iPhone... since it sounds like it will have a lot of the features I'm enjoying on the S7 Edge currently. I have no hate for either platform... but I prefer iPhone's more since I've had iPhone's since the 1st gen. Enjoying the S7 Edge now... but looking forward to the 2017 iPhone redesign.

Why not do some customizing and install a different keyboard from the Play store. Try the keyboard from Google.

Did you not go into the keyboard settings or install a better keyboard like Swift? Or check what's draining your battery under settings? The S7 edge battery life is actually better than the iPhone 6S Plus.

I love the look of some Samsung's newer hardware and it's tempting. But not enough to cut ties with iOS. Major upsides and downsides iOS and Android.

I had a Samsung and while the phone was lovely, I didn't particularly like Samsung's take on the software (did a few annoying things), their update policy and the very short Bluetooth range, which they couldn't fix.

Got a P9 remarkably cheaply, it's simply gorgeous and it doesn't annoy me in any way, which is really something. No battery drain either - last night it had 64% battery left when I plugged it in, which is exactly the same amount it had two nights ago when I plugged it in.

If you want a high end Android phone that's fast and fluid - and in my opinion much better than any iPhone - this is one of them. I've seen the Nougat beta on it and it adds the Nexus launcher, if you don't like their default UI.

I have (but not for much longer) an S7 edge.

Battery life is good, I installed 360 total security as this cleans up junk from the samsung apps (upto 2GB every 3-5 days)
and turns off battery draining apps, however not automatically you need to run the scan.

But I find my 6s plus battery last longer the the s7 edge.

I like the samsung keyboard, if I could install it on the iphone be great!

At this point samsung has the better hardware, those phones are sexy, BUT apple has the software which is why im on IOS.
imessage and facetime are game changers.

Same exact problem here. Tried over 10 phones and always end up back. Maybe the note 7 will keep me away.

Don't feel bad, There are tons of us that do the same thing every year. I love trying out all kinds of new tech--never know if you'll find something that better fits your needs unless you try. Some I keep, some I don't. As it stands now, even though the hardware of the latest Samsungs is better, I still prefer how iOS does things. Not ruling out a future switch though...lots of potentially cool stuff coming from Google in the near future (Google Assistant, Allo/Duo, Daydream, Android Apps on Chromebooks) so who knows, Android O might lure me back.

It's always tempting, but I wind up coming back to iOS mostly due to the interaction I have with my family. We use photos to share and all have iMessage and so on and so forth.

That sounds really strange. The battery capacity on the S7 Edge is massive compared to any smartphone I have ever had. And that includes both iPhones and previous Samsung phones.

I always have at least 30% capacity left when I go to bed in the evening - without doing any charging since I got up around 7AM.

I just came across this thread again and recently had an experience bearing on it. I purchased the Blackberry Priv from Verizon recently since they dropped the price significantly and I have always loved Blackberry. It was my daily driver and I had an old iPhone on another line when I suddenly got an emergency call about a family member and had to immediately take a train to sort things out.

While on the platform and on the train I was involved in a barrage of phone calls and texts about the issue. Frankly using the priv with Android was a nightmare. Couldn't see the screen, too many steps to answer a text, or make or take a call. And I was worried about running out of battery life.

Finally, in desperation, I switched sims and moved the iPhone to my main line on the train and are now exclusively using it as my daily driver. I'm not knocking Android (my son has the 7S and loves it) Maybe I just had the wrong android phone or maybe I just had it set up in too complicated a way, but I found the iPhone just simpler to use when I needed it most. Think I will stay with Apple for a while. (The priv went back, by the way)

I also went back to my iPhone recently. I am in the same boat, not knocking Android but I would have to agree that I also just love the reliability and simplicity of the iPhone. It's there for me when I need it...it's not complicated etc. I also don't think I will go back to Android anytime soon

I went and picked up the note 7 and I find myself about to return this Note 7 and stick my sim card right back in the 6S+.

People tend to be a creature of habit and falling back to what they're accustomed to and not because it's better. I know people who still prefer the rotary home phone vs using mobile phone.

I have had some of the prior Note phones. Though I did keep each one for a cycle (year) and then back to iPhone I went. I did like the Notes but ultimately I would always end up with my iPhone again I agree with the other post, we always tend to go back to what we know/comfortable with!
