I have the elgato eyetv hybrid so am I right in thinking that when BBC and the other freeview channels switch to HD, I will not need to buy anything else to watch HDTV on my Macbook screen? Thanks :)

PS I only have freeview and use the Elgatos built in tuner.

The Elgato sounds promising.

To further add more details, I'm in the UK, wanting to receive DVB-T signals (freeview), analog if poss (not a definate requirement...only for the crossover really to digital!) and the game console hookups.

I'm currently doing some research on it, but chip in if you know.
The Elgato Hybrid is analog and HDTV only?...no DVB-T for UK?

Is this what I'm looking for?...looks very promising?...anyone tried it with games consoles for lag?

I did few searches about this product and so far i have found that it does very well with video and wii/n64.

But what about PS3 using component? Does it work? what about 360? Im just wondering because depending if i can use it for PS3 or not will determine if i get the console or if i spend my money else where.

We do not have a HDTV at home plus my wife is a TV junkie so most of my time is spent in front of the computer.

Any console will work great using COMPOSITE. COMPONENT is not supported. There is however an S-Video Plug.

Not sure about all that UK stuff, I am in the US.. Just check Elgato's site or e-mail them...

That looks like a really good choice... (It is what I would pick) They didn't have that when I bought the Hybrid.

That will work fantastic with consoles!

Just some warning to people looking to buy the eyeTV 250 plus...if you're wanting digital tuners then make sure its "plus" otherwise its just analogue, from what I can gather.

This seems like the ideal product for me, but is hard to come by in the UK and is very pricey. Anyone know of any competitor products that do the same/similar thing for less?
