Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max, Monkey Island, Full Throttle and so on. But I admit, DotT was the game I was playing the most when I was young... god it was funny.

You know, I'm a huge adventure game fan and somehow never played any of the Myst games. I'm not sure how that happened, but I'll have to find copies and play those later this year, if I can find some time. It'll be tough, if Nintendo has as big of an E3 as I suspect they will most of my (very limited) gaming time might be filled up.

Go for RealMyst. It reportedly runs fine on Intel, and it's real "free" 3D--you can walk around at will. I really enjoyed it. And it adds one extra world to the original Myst, but otherwise replicates the puzzles and the look of the classic.

Also, this recently-released game--which I think may be the start of a series, is Monkey-Island like in its interaction IIRC:

...Could be interesting!

It might be, anybody played it?

Both these games are similar to Monkey Island. Same sense of humor and same game operation. I am currently trying to play Ankh 2 now but it seems to have a bug. I'm at a point where I need to combine a sharp stone with a stick to light a torch but it keeps telling me I already have the wood when I pick it up.

Anyway that's how I ended up finding this thread.
