Well, I think your shot really brought out a sense of nobility in him. Street singers can be amazing people sometimes. There was a really great homeless gentleman who sang and played violin, in Ann Arbor, that everyone used to love, and whom I miss... :(

Here's another from the A95 -- learning some of the manual controls.

Nice, Chris!

If the control layout is similar to the S50, which I suspect it is, when you are in any of the lettered modes, like M/Av/P/etc, I think you can press in on the joystick/D-Pad, and this will cause the directions to move the focus / metering box around on the screen to whatever location you want. This might help you with using auto focus on a picture like this, since the camera will usually insist on focusing to the middle of the object....

I typically do on my 35mm SLR. The Sony digital I was using is pretty limited on manual adjustments though. May go back and see what else I can get though.

So you live within easy distance of a waterfall? Impressive! ;) :D

We have a lovely lake nearby, where I go kayaking sometimes, and there are bald eagles there...hmmm.... :)

This is my HP Photosmart m407 (4.1MP) camera. I'm fairly new to digital photography but I think it takes pretty good photos. I paid just over £100 for it.

The pics are of a friends' border terrier puppy. Her name is Holly and she certainly knows how to pose for the camera! I've taken more photos of her than anything else!

I've only just got broadband too and I'm loving being able to view all these threads I've wanted to look at for ages but never had the patience to wait for! :)

How do I insert a picture into my post rather than have it as an attachment? Do I have to have the picture hosted on a site somewhere or something?

Attached is a couple from my Canon Powershot S45. The one of my cat makes me laugh because it looks like she's nursing my tortoises when she had just got in and laid down for no apparent reason.

To expound... :D

Try http://www.photobucket.com or http://www.flickr.com ... both of them allow you to have direct links (such as the way Yellow's photo appears a few replies up).

I use Photobucket because I got it before flickr really became well known, and it is very easy to use. Flickr has the advantage of some nice iPhoto integration, I have heard, so that you can basically add menus of some kind to iPhoto to upload pics to flickr, rather than going to a website and dragging them into the upload menu and so on....

After that, you get the web address of the picture (http://....) and you click on the yellow and grey picture of a mountain in the middle of the row of buttons above the textbox on the forum reply page, and paste that web address into the box. :)

BTW, MacRy, the sunset cityscape is very nice. You should try straightening it out -- I think it's an outstanding photo. :)

Wow, Yellow, that needs to be straightened very slightly, but that photo is *fabulous*. :D

Thanks.. the angle is unfortunate. But, like I said, that camera sux. (The viewfinder guides were all off kilter) That one was a really lucky shot. The light was just right for the stained glass image on the right and without the flash it came out WAY better in picture then it did look in real life.

I'm not a religious man at all, but all those colors were simply beautiful.

It's from a small church just outside of Reykjavik near the President's house.
