I have been frequenting the Macbook Air forums for a few months and I still can not pull the trigger on purchasing one yet. The $999 refurbed is really catching my eye. Please take part in the poll to help me with my decision.

I am completely and thoroughly satisfied... oh yeah!

Since you forgot to actually add the poll to your message I had to make up my own answer :)

EDIT: Looks like the poll just went up or there was a delay when I saw it. I'm in the same boat as you though - teetering on the verge of pulling the purchase trigger.

I am very happy. I have had both versions now. I would not have bought Rev B if I hadn't been pleased with Rev A.

For what I do this laptop suits my needs perfectly. It is so beautiful. I still smile when I use it. There is nothing out there that beats the form factor.

I waited for Rev B. It was REALLY hard to resist Rev A when it first came out. But I use Windows a lot for work and the small, slow HDD wasn't going to cut it. Rev B was like it was made for me. 128GB more affordable SSD with a graphics performance boost. Just enough for Windows and Mac.

the one usb port really killed it for me. I like my logitech nano vx mouse. i don't know of any laptop-sized bluetooth mouse that has a lot of buttons. I routinely use 4 other buttons besides the wheel and L&R.

if i use the usb port for the mouse, i don't have any for a usb flash drive.

i instead have a unibody macbook.

now i'm looking to sell my rev B 1.6ghz macbook air

I am very happy with my Rev. A, and it is perfectly suited to my needs. My only complaint is that I get about two-and-a-half hours before the low battery indictor comes on, but my screen is very bright, and I surf a lot so I get that usage is par for the course with this machine.

I would have gotten the Rev. B, but the screen and flickering issues made it a non-starter for me.

I couldn't be more satisfied with my Rev A 1.8 SSD

Having read all the negativity and horror , I was expecting very little from it , but made a purchase out of curiousity than anything else , expecting a "netbook" , but I have to be honest - in day to day use it is as quick as any computer I have ever used , including the Unibody 2.4ghz MBP I sent back earlier this months (obviously I am talking about day to day tasks , not everything)

I am REALLY glad I took a chance to see for myself rather than taking the nay-sayers word for anything , Best computer I have bought in a long time all in all.

Funny but I had a mouse for my last VAIO and now with my Rev B Air I never use it, I love the trackpad and the multi-gesture capabilities. I am completely satisfied and with my 1.86/128ssd Rev B.

I bought the rev A day one and liked it except for the poor graphics. I bought the rev B and couldn't be more happy, it meets all my needs.

I'm really surprised to see how many people are happy after reading so many negative comments. Maybe those people don't actually own one after all.

My Rev A 1.6 SSD is almost a year old now and has never skipped a beat, if i could afford it the only thing i'd consider replacing it with is a Rev B Air....

Does everything i need extremely well and goes with me pretty much everywhere.

I have the Rev B 1.86/SSD Air and love it. It's the best notebook I've ever owned bar none! :)

The screen flickering some people are talking about is BS! It only shows on a special test screen which is retarded to judge the Air by. There is no flickering on regular web pages or anything else I do on my Air.

I'm completely satisfied with my MacBook Air, I use it three or four times more often than my MacBook Pro. It works perfectly for the light work that I do on it and is great for day to day stuff, anything heavy duty will be done on the MacBook Pro.

Yeah, I saw that post. But that is not the information im looking for. I am more interested in if people are satisifed or not. I already know which model I would get.

Funny how things turn out sometimes.
I spend months, after finally getting enough money together to get my first Apple laptop, trying to decide which one to go for.

Finally, after for too long a time rejecting the Rev A Air and bouncing between a Blackbook & a refurb Macbook Pro & kinda-waiting for the next-rev Air & then the rumours of imminent new-styled 'books and 'Pro's, I decide, come mid-Oct that the Air is the one I want.
Then I come up against the screens issue; for me at least, a very real issue. I waited, waited, thought, thought and got absolutely nowhere doing so!
Finally, in January, amidst the flurry of folks buying a refurb Rev A Air now that it had become more affordable, I asked some questions of a few who post hereabouts, thought some more(!), and at last went for it!
Now I have my new(not refurb, not that there's probably much difference, other than the box they come in!)Rev A Air. Yes, a Rev A!

It's a wonderful machine and you know, when it really comes down to it, for me(and many others - read the assorted threads), it is a more than capable machine. It really is all about the experience, with the Air.
Completely satisfied, with just the one 'issue'. Battery recharging time.
At the moment it's taking 8-10hrs to recharge, obviously not acceptable. Nothing to worry about though; I took it in to my local(3 miles away, I know, I'm quite fortunate)genius bar and they said it's typical for the first several cycles and to just give it a little while, but that if it doesn't revert to normal then bring it in and they'll replace the battery.

Anyway, I saved myself over £400 on a new Rev B, and the jump in performance over my trusty G5 PPC iMac is pretty remarkable.
The lesson for me - don't fall into that ever-present trap of waiting & pondering & waiting and never getting the damn thing!!

Excellent post! Very informative! You seem to know exactly what I am going through.

That's what part of my poll was about. 21/23 people who bought the $999 refurb were happy (ie satisfied) with the purchase.
Now all the people that are satisfied here are not necessarily using the same version of the computer so the poll might be flawed if you already know what model you'll be buying.

I have to agree with this. I've never noticed any flickering.

My Rev.B is just perfect....

...and I could not be more happy to have got it as a replacement for my previous MacBookBlack (excellent machine btw).

Battery time (and recharging times especially) being the only point which could be considered not 100% satisfying.

No screen lines flickering whatsoever

No screen lines flickering whatsoever

Completely satisfied.
I was one of the lucky ones to get a perfect Rev. B Air without any lines on the screen, etc.
I cannot be happier. :)

I am pretty sure I know what information I am trying to get out of my own poll.

Thanks to everyone who has posted so far. My main concern is here on the boards people complain and vent about all of the problems they have with the macbook air, it makes a potential buyer think that every MBA ever made is problematic. It's nice to know that there are quite a few people out there that are completely satisfied!

For every person you see that complains there are tens if not hundreds that are perfectly satisfied.
