Actually, I'm sort of changing my mind about the keynote and hardware releases, for one reason only.

Retina computer displays.

OS X 10.8 has all these retina resolution graphics and stuff built in, I bet there's a huge push at the WWDC to get developers' Mac apps retina'd for 10.8 and the new retina-capable Macs. The best way to push 10.8's retinal goodness, if it's being pushed, is to show developers that their customers will soon own the hardware to use it. Surely this means MacBook Pros, and maybe Airs and iMacs. But imagine if they also were showing off retina Thunderbolt! displays? That would be the perfect time to show off new desktops using them. Minis and Mac Pros would only make sense.

If this is indeed the Year of the Retina, we could very well see a (quick) announcement of products across the Mac line-up, perhaps with a longer spotlight on a single product line like the MacBook Pro. Release dates, probably when 10.8 ships.

The thing to look for, therefore, is how much they talk about retina graphics in 10.8. If they're talking about it, they're probably announcing hardware to use it. The more they're talking about it, the more hardware they're probably announcing. The only question then, is if they have new Thunderbolt! displays or just laptop displays.

Still though, I expect iOS 6 will be the main focus, that's just the audience in attendance. But if they spend a lot of time on 10.8, you'll know there's more of a focus on the Mac this year, which means new Macs. Mac Pros? We'll see.

first of all ,sorry 'cause i'm in hurry
and cannot read all the post above,
i apologize,
second..
i don't know if Apple will release a new Mac Pro
i can only hope for it..
but
two thing had catched my eyes today
1.this Hackintosh case..(don't bite me!)
http://www.caseking.de/shop/catalog/popup_image.php?pID=19167&imgID=3
2.The petition for New Mac Pro on Facebook..

Now the question is..do you really think Apple still care Mac Pro?
I hope so..because as you can see there will be a lot of people
really disapponted ..me included and then..some other players
would be really happy to take in some ways the market Apple would left behind..and that has taken Apple here..
before Ios devices there were Macs..and without this ones..no Iphone would have never been created..
and for me this is a fact.
Ok thanks for your attention..bye and have a nice day.

Now the question is..do you really think Apple still care Mac Pro?

I think some people are making a lot of noise, but I don't know if anyone knows for sure.

I think the safest answer is that Apple cares about iOS more than the Mac. If we just look at the Macs by themselves though, it's hard to say if Apple cares about the Mac Pro less than something like the Mac Mini.

cannot answer to this,,if you remember there was a period
where people said that Apple was about to discontinue mini's too..
as far i can see..now we have
entry level with mac minis
the "mid"level with Imacs
and the top level filled with MacPro..

maybe "its time "to see a reunion between minis and pros
givin us only one line..from specs like mini to specs like pro..
but..only time will tell..
and frankly i don't see it happenin in the future..
but its just me..and by the way we can live
and work a lot with the today machines
even if "outdated"

you're right
its really a "different approach"
but do you know what?i'm more scared
that they ..one day will merge Osx with Ios..
'cause this makes me believe that Forstall sees
the Iphone 19..as the next Mac Pro..
but i have to apologize i think my thoughts are
a little off topic here..
so coming back to the main topic ,
i would like to see ALL MACS line renewed at
next WWDC..,starting from MacBook Pro,
then the new Minis, then the Imacs
and for last One more thing!
the new Mac Pro..

The voice of reason here:

"Here’s my thought: Apple hasn’t upgraded the MacPro since 2010 because it feels the market for it is too small. Combine that with Apple’s philosophy that it doesn’t pre-announce products and you have a perfect stew of insecurity for creative types.

But Apple’s philosophy doesn’t prohibit it from pre-announcing the death of a product. If sales are already so low as to not justify upgrading the MacPro, then there is no significant harm to Apple’s business to saying that the MacPro will be “End of Lifed” by such-and-such a date.

Conversely, if the market for the MacPro is large enough to justify updating it, there is no harm in announcing that the MacPro will be updated by such-and-such a quarter because the MacPro market is far smaller than any other computer hardware segment that Apple serves. Neither announcement would have any significant financial impact on Apple, but would be a SIGNIFICANT benefit to creative professionals planning their hardware purchases."

Ok..
so?
we still don't know anything..
only time will tell
but frankly i don't see Apple so silly to cancel
the Mac Pro Line..
to switch from Machines to toys

All this speculation about Apple's Mac Pro sales is pure garbage, no one knows the figures except Apple.

Worldwide workstation market sales exceeded 1 million units for the first time in Q3 2011. I don't know if those figures include Mac Pro sales or are Windows / Linux only. It is a growing market. HP have around 40-45% of that market. That means HP sell around 450,000 per quarter. Annualise that up and multiply by the average selling price of say 4000 USD per workstation and it is a lot of revenue, just over 7 Bn USD per annum.

Depending on how many Mac Pro sales Apple make compared to HP you can make a guess at Apple's Mac Pro revenue. If you just take a wide range and guess that Apple's sales are 10% to 100% of HPs you get a range of figures from 0.7 Bn USD to 7 Bn USD.

Draw your own conclusions.

I could be wrong but I really do think apple is going to kill off the MP at some point and we will not see a refresh at WWDC or any other time.

I really hope so ... but I doubt it. At this moment, the iOS and OS X subjects are far more hyped. I'm thinking the only hardware announcement will be the new macbook pro design and the mac pro will have a silent update through the apple store website.

Nope

No.

If they update it at all this year, it will just likely be a quiet update to the Apple Store. If they talk it up at all, it will be because then the entire Mac line would then be supporting Thunderbolt.

And pretty much the only reason they really have to update the MPro is to give video creators a platform to develop retina graphics and video... but they've been pitching the hi-end 27" iMac as the "Mac Pro for the rest of us" for a WHILE.

B4NZ41....

I wonder if Apple really does OS X and iOS development on iMacs now because that's what killing the Mac Pro means...

And video production on an iMac is not the same as a 12-core Mac Pro by any stretch of the imagination.

The first Mac pro was launched the very same day of the 2006 WWDC Keynote, and they only needed 10 minutes, there is hope for you guys.

Those were the days. Could you imagine Apple doing this kind of announcement for a high end mac ever again? :( Sad really.
