What features need to be in the iPhone/With the iPhone

I hate to say it, but I think the spark is gone for phones in general. It's just a matured device at this point, so there isn't anywhere all that special to take it anymore.

All I really want from Apple is to get rid of the input-blocking in iOS so that even fast devices don't feel slow due to having to repeat inputs.

Nothing on the list. An 11 year marriage doesn’t feel like a first date. Nor should it.

AirPods for the price of an iPhone? Now that’s expensive.

This is what’s wrong with OP’s thread, they are suggesting that there are ‘certain features’ that will attract the consumer back to the iPhone, that is not the answer. The answer is, Apple needs to be more mindful of their pricing structure for the consumer, A thousand dollar smart phone is provoking thought for the consumer, “Do I really need to upgrade my phone to a $1000 iPhone, when it does everything I needed to right now.”

We all know Apple has some of the best hardware standards in the industry, it’s the pricing that they need to revamp and re-think how they can attract the customer, and it seems that is what Tim Cook is going to do based off his last statement when he addressed investors and his media interview.

For a £1100 phone the notch needs to go it’s a eye sore.

rapid charging is a given and it’s ridiculous the phone doesn’t have it included for free out of the box.

For the base model memory should be higher than it is.

If you want to charge Ferrari
prices then stop trying to rip consumers off by not not including stuff like higher powered chargers. Then throw in better head phones as the ones you get out of the box are crap.

Without paying for it ?

I have a iPhone 8+ which cost £800 and i got the normal charger and adapter and my phone doesn’t charge any differently than my iPhone 6.
No, they don’t give you a fast charger out of the box. You have to buy one separately because Apple sucks. The Pixel comes with fast charging out of the box, so there’s no reason for Apple not to. It’s just another way for Apple to nickel and dime their customers. It’s only available via USB-C PD chargers.

Thank you as that’s what I thought

Exactly this! I find it difficult to pay close to $1,000.00 for a phone when that kind of money will keep me in food for 6 months.. or several car payments. I can live without a phone, can't live without food.

I just bought a refurbished 2017 MacBook Pro, non-Touch Bar model, and there is nothing about this computer that indicates that I paid $300.00 less than it cost on release day - except for the box it came in. So, when my iPhone 8 finally dies, probably years from now, I'll look for a refurbished iPhone that will work for my needs.

I still think one of the obvious things to do is actually redesign the form factor. Arguably, for some, it’s been the same since the 6. Clearly the X was a shift, but from the side it’s still that boring rounded shape. I also think 5G will get a boost from people who don’t normally upgrade.

Need to add USB-C
Id go one further, TB3 and give new iPhones the ability to do Target disk mode

even if it means a sandboxed off partition needed to be made, APFS handles nondestructive partitioning well, they want people to buy higher end phones and storage sizes keep going up, TB3 is also backwards compatible as usb-c its a win win and a reason for IT like myself & other professionals to justify these super inflated high end models
