I have a Mac Pro with a GTX970 running the nvidia web drivers and a Mac Pro with a flashed AMD 280X Toxic version. Both run very well.

I've voted a single AMD, but I'm changing it to single nVidia.
My R9 280X just started turning off screens during normal FCPX workload, then in everyday desktop use. I've found MSI GTX980 Gaming locally for ok money so i've bought it today.
What a breath of fresh air, both macOS and Windows 10... Wow!!!
