$499 should be the magic number with a two year data plan.

Without the data plan it could be 799-999 or so.

If a contract is required then I don't want it even if it's free. Just what consumers need.... another 3 year... $$$$/ per month.... blah.

I'd pay up $2000 AU... if the features it offers are valuable and worth it (if I had the money spare). But I don't think it will be anywhere near that price... fortunately.

I'd give $800

But it better do a lot more than a $199 iPod or $200 Kindle. This things needs gobs of ram, a fast processor, and the ability to run some real programs. I would like to be able to dock it up, use a wireless keyboard and mouse, and have a functional computer. Not just a big screened iPod that will run basic apps. I am guessing 1 gig ram, dual core processor, 128 gig hdd. Will probably have a 10" screen like everyone speculates, but that brings into question portability.

$500 would be a good price.

But, honestly, from what I have heard about this tablet... it sounds a little redundant. I already have a MacBook Pro and an iPod Touch, where is this device going to fit into my lifestyle?

I doubt I will be buying it and I doubt it's success would be as far-reaching as the iPhone was.

I'll pay 1000, but it has to be a full blown PC at that point or something really new. If its just a large iPod touch, 1000 is to much for me.

That's without a contract. I won't be buying it with a contract(unless there is a way to add it for cheap on AT&T)

yea hopefully there are ways around the data plan... when i worked at att all data plans were basically the same provisioning wise(cept for BB servers)... u could take the sim card w/ UNL web in a WinMo phone and throw it into a laptop stick and get web perfectly fine...

One thing im wondering, under the assumption this thing has USB ports (which it better!!!) is if i could tether something to it and get web that way? just a thought..

With the 64GB iPod touch costing 399.00, The iPad will cost at least double that price if not more. I think allot of folks are going to be surprised tomorrow when the price is anounced.

It's an impossible question to answer. I suspect that like a lot of people if it didn't/couldn't do what I wanted, I wouldn't pay anything for it.

If it does what I want (unlikely), I'd pay about $1000 for it.
