Which iPhone size do you prefer?

  • iPhone SE, iPhone 6-8, and nothing larger. As a result, I will not be upgrading

  • iPhone SE, iPhone 6-8, and nothing larger. I will be upgrading though as there are no other options

  • I prefer the larger size of iPhone X/Xs/Xr/Plus/Max and will be happily upgrading

  • I prefer the larger size of iPhone X/Xs/Xr/Plus/Max but will not upgrade due to price/features/etc

You'lll have to scale up (keep the same size) the notch tough, as the camera systems ain't going to get any smaller.
That's true. And could also be (part of) the reason we haven't seen such a phone yet. There probably wouldn't be much space left on either side of the notch. Although I'm assuming Apple could find a way around that issue somehow, if they really wanted to.

edit: Something like this, I guess. Might make sense to simply get rid of the "horns" at that point... The display would still be larger than the one they put in the SE.

probably not a popular opinion, and not the direction they are going, but i’d love to see them ditch the front facing camera and just get touch id under the screen somehow

I voted for "other" because I am very happy with the iPhone X size and would not want anything either larger or smaller. Thus I'll be eventually getting an iPhone Xs. I like the physical dimensions of the iPhone X with the larger screen; works very well for me and fits comfortably in purses and some pockets.

Plus/Max for sure.

The 7 Plus was my favorite phone to date. It's just massive, and it felt like you were holding a small tablet. That's why I can't wait for the Max. While I love the X, it's just too small after coming from a larger form factor. Can't wait to experience all the bests of the X in a bigger form factor.

I take it that's a good thing then? At some point, wouldn't you be better served with an iPad?

You can't fit an iPad into a pocket. And an iPad doesn't make cellular calls. Or have an edge-to-edge OLED screen.

I'd really like to see an SE sized iPhone but without the notch of the excess max and the humongous bezels of the SE. Maybe something a bit bigger could also work but that's about it. I have absolutely no use for these giant phones they're been releasing, and honestly even the 6/6s are too big and uncomfortable for me. What I really want is a phone that I could also use to browse the web, what I don't want nor need is a 6.5" iPad that I can sometimes use to place voice calls and send messages.

It's not that hard to use any phone one handed, just because it's big doesn't mean it's uncomfortable, still Max size for sure.

My specific case isn't one of the options. I've had a plus sized phone for the last 2 years and I think its the right amount of screen space. As a result, I'm getting the regular XS. I'm excited to get some pocket space back while retaining the larger screen. Even if its a little narrower I'm not too fussed.

I like the largest phone, so the $1,100 Xs Max would have been my first choice, but I found an SE new for $160 so that made my decison quite easy. Will be putting the nearly $1,000 towards an updated Mac or iPad Pro from Apple’s next announcement.

For me the screen ratio is just as important as size. The 5.5” screen of the Plus phones was perfect (for me), I just wish they’d kept the size and 16:9 ratio but got rid of the bezels leaving a nice wide screen that’s not stupidly tall. This would have resulted in a form factor far less unwieldy in both pocket and hand than the current Plus or the new Xr or Xs Max.

Wow, I must say I'm surprised to see how many people prefer the smaller phones. It's definitely a large enough percentage to where Apple needs to take a closer look at their lineup.

Even though I picked the first option, I completely agree with you. In fact, I wouldn't mind a return to the iPhone 4 form factor but with a larger screen. That would basically be my dream phone.

Wow. Couldn't agree with you more. That would be absolutely epic! I'd actually pay $700-800 for a phone like this. No joke.

iPhone 4 body with X/XS-like screen. Dream phone right there. For now, I'm super happy with my SE. It's fast on the latest iOS 11 and hoping it will be even faster on iOS 12 tomorrow.

The best part about the SE is that it's such a cheap phone, I'm rocking it with no case. I mean, given how it can be had new for under $200, I'm not worried about accidents and drops. I actually thought about picking up several of them, since they have been officially discontinued.

I’m okay with the size of my 6s and will probably get an XS but I’d prefer something smaller. The good thing this year though is that I don’t sacrifice camera features just because my hands and pockets are too small for the big version.

My ideal would be smaller but with a great screen and camera.
[doublepost=1537132852][/doublepost]And I suspect those who say surely anyone can use a 6/7/8 one handed not only have bigger hands than me but also don’t have any signs of arthritis yet.

It may be cheap today, but IIRC I spent somewhere around $700 on it when I bought mine.

I definitely don't like big phones. A Plus or Max is probably out of the question for me. I recently bought my first iPhone to see if I liked them.(coming from a plus sized Android which I hated) I was intending to buy an SE but ended up with a 6s fearing the screen on the SE would be too small. I'm happy enough with the 6s as I can mostly use it one handed but it's on the cusp of how big I would go. If and when I upgrade, my first call would be an 8 but might consider an Xs since it's not that much bigger and is quite beautiful. I wish the Xr was slightly smaller because that would be my first choice. I'm pretty sure it's too big for me though.

I’m on a 6s and find it as big as I’m really prepared to go but will give the XS a go. My hands and pockets won’t thank me but as you say it is beautiful!

These results are WILDLY skewed as anyone NOT on a forum and a power user would NEVER pick the SE.

And for the people who are now going to say, "THEY SOLD A LOT!!!!" That's because the SE was the "cheap" phone. They will sell a lot of 7's and 8's now too.

The results of course don’t speak of the market outside of these forums, but I’m not sure why you think only forum and power users use the SE.

Keeping my beloved SE until it dies or Apple releases a worthy 4 in. successor. If the 1st happens before the 2nd it’s bye bye iPhone. I’m not married to Apple.
It's not just Apple. Best of luck to you in finding a decent 4" phone anywhere. You're probably stuck with random crap phones like this.

Never happening. Too many apps and features depend on the use of the front camera.
