just a quick update
went in to my local apple store in the uk and they are going to replace it on uk launch day with a new one for me
they said i should enjoy using my faulty one then i can get a replacement free of charge.
so im a happy bunny once more

Maybe if you used paypal you have some recourse if the goods received were not as advertised. Like many others have said, it is too risky purchasing an iPad before it is available where you live. Perhaps you have learned a valuable lesson here.
