No version for Intel MacOS? Crazy. It's like the early obsolescence of PowerPC Macs all over again. It's looking like Linux will soon be the only option for those of us still with Intel Macs wanting to stay current...

In the meantime I'll easily play Cyberpunk 2077 on my Intel Mac Pro and MacBook Pro via Bootcamp. :)

Unlike the previous transition you have options with an Intel Mac.

Apple tax? Steam charges developers 30%, but Apple only charges 15% for sales below $1m.
Steam charges a 30% cut of all game sales on its platform, which means that developers earn 70% of the revenue generated by their games. However, if the game manages to generate revenues of millions, like over $10 million and $50 million, this commission fee drops to 25% and 20%, respectively. Hence, the charges depend on the market performance of the game.

Just as I said. Steam doesn’t have the 15% rate for developers with revenue under $1m. Steam has a discounted rate at $10m and $50m breakpoints, but the most vulnerable developers are the indies with much less revenue — most of them don’t make it.

Hi folks. Has anyone tried running it on a standard M1 chip (the one with all 8 GPUs)?
Yes. No (major) problems.

Here's my (default) graphic settings:

Thanks. I have downloaded and played for about an hour. My standard M1 (8 GPU) with 16 MB of RAM plays the game perfectly well on default settings (I think I had one stutter the first time that the little critters attack, but otherwise okay). The M1 gets warm, but not enough to cause the fans to run at any noticeable speed.

I can also confirm that it works with a SteelSeries Nimbus controller. (I had no luck with a PS3 controller, but I’m a bit of a newbie when it comes to Mac gaming, so I may have missed an important setting.)

You guys having “lesser” GPU Macs can try to tweak the ”scaling solution” to MetalFX to see if it helps performance, especially “resolution scale” to 50%. You may be able to push a lot higher display resolution and / or resulted frame rate.

I finished the game yesterday (to the story end, not 100% collectibles). Playing it on M3 Max base 16", via Steam, to an LG OLED TV at 4k120Hz.

Can report that the game runs smoothly all the way, as the most graphically intensive part is already in act 1 before you drop down the sewer.

Though at times, I think at least 3 or 4 times, the game would stutter for close to a minute while trying to load some assets. This happens right after a cut scene has started, one particular instance it was probably 2 minutes when I meet a certain character in an apartment that triggers a sequence. I have read elsewhere that the game suffers this issue since it does not pre-load shaders, so probably not an Apple Silicon exclusive problem, just the way the game is coded.

Overall I am quite satisfied with the game, the visuals are soothing and the Mac can handle its max settings when MetalFX scaling is engaged (I set at 50%), even at 4k the fps always goes towards 100. And the game itself is a lovely piece of craft, very fresh breath of air among whats out there.
