well after using my iPhone 8 for the day I have no interest for downgraded to iOS 10...

iOS 11 runs awesome on the 8 and haven’t found an issue that bothers me yet

That's good to hear. I personally don't like the animations (compared to iOS 10), but nothing to do about that until jailbreak.

Yeah, they wouldn't sign 10.3.3 for the iPhone 8. That'd be really nice though.

I believe 10.3.3 signing will also stop shortly for the 5s, 6, 6s, and 7. I ran back to 10.3.3 myself yesterday before they have a chance to close that gap. It ruined my 5s...

This IOS signing thing really deserves a class action lawsuit. I sent an iPhone into Apple for repair. When I got it back, I couldn't put my IOS 10.3.3 backup which Apple advised me to do. iTunes simply wouldn't allow it. That means Apple forbid me to make my iPhone work the same again after repair. This should be illegal.
I personally think this is worse than the battery issue in my opinion. Now my repaired phone is slower upon repair.

Thank you Apple. NOT. :(

From a technical stand point it makes a lot of sense to do what  is doing with iOS update.

Unlike people who got FREE battery replacements, I actually PAID for mine, so yeah, it ticks me off and for good reason.

If you think companies screwing over loyal customers is good business, fine. We obviously have differing opinions about how to do business.

Backups don’t save the OS version only the data itself. There shouldn’t be an issue using an iOS 10 backup with iOS 11.

From your mouth to Tim Cooks ear. Lots of stuff saved did not come back including 32 bit apps from a complete 10.3.3 backup of my iPhone.

Maybe there are valid reasons to do it, but DO NOT MAKE PROMISES that you're not keeping.

My iPhone was not restored to its original working condition. How does that not a reasonable request?

Apple can't restore to an unsupported OS since there my be security vulnerabilities and Apple could then be held liable.

Well my first answer is security vulnerabilities my AZZ, but a simple answer is better.

Simple answer. Don't give instruction advice to backup such unsupported OS! Then you're even MORE liable for violating your own instructions on such device.

THIS, your backup is NOT the iOS. It is the data and NOT a clone of your iPhone. You simply restore the backup (data) to the new iOS.

I’m talking about not being able to downgrade iOS. Even with the recent battery life and throttling stuff,  is actually technically doing the best thing possible for the customers. The only issue was that they didn’t communicate it well to the customers. That’s about it.

Hmm…sounds like you missed the memo.

Apple announced with iOS 10 that 32-bit apps were being deprecated. They announced with the launch of iOS 11 that 32-bit apps would not run on iOS 11.

You don't have 32-bit apps restored, not because of your backup, but because they aren't allowed to run on iOS 11. The idea is that the developer has had at least one full version of iOS to update their app to 64-bit. In fact the developer has actually had since iOS 7 when the 64-bit iPhone 5s was launched.

If the developer of the app never bothered then it's the developer's fault. They had plenty of time. That isn't Apple's fault.

Either bug the dev to release a 64-bit app or seek out an alternative.

PS. As much as I hate the whole digital signing as well (I jailbreak) you should read the EULA for iOS. Somewhere in there it states that Apple owns iOS and is only granting you a license to use it. Your sole remedy is to stop using iOS if you do not agree. You do not own iOS so therefore a class action lawsuit against how Apple uses it or doesn't is not going to get anywhere.

Apple's "repair" reduced the functionality of my iPhone, made dozens of apps inoperable.

Apple's instructions did NOT put my iPhone back to the state I sent it to Apple except for the battery holding a charge longer.

You can argue over semantics. They don't change those 2 facts.
