Bomba Alarm clock

Probably the coolest thing from Green Lantern. The movie was terrible but clock is cool.

Based on commercials, i was really digging it. Even preordered it over MW3 (Only wanted one because i'll play the one so much) but then i played the beta. Pure crap. Graphics are bad, game play/feel is bad. Traded my preorder to MW3. i highly, highly doubt i regret the choice.

You know the beta was a very old version of the game intended for server testing only? The beta version was months old...and the real game is not even close to the beta. EA still cant seem to keep servers up during peak times in US yet.

Hate to see someone run to the crap MW3 because of a server testing beta. Not even the same company that made Cod4 or MW2 either...InfinityWard is dead, only thing left is the name. If you gave Battlefield a real chance you would never go back to the camper infested hell and all the stupid ass care packages.

I've had quite the opposite feeling, and like jeremy am just not digging the game. The fact that EA threw out that ol' 'this is an old buggy beta build' excuse to justify the beta, and then claim it was to stress servers really has pissed me off. One, you try to put your best foot forward to impress new customers to your product, especially if you want to topple the most popular product out there. Two, like every BF release in recent memory, they still didn't provide for enough servers, despite their insistence on using their own. Getting online to play is a total crapshoot, and then have to cross your fingers to stay connected.

The campaign is as much a snooze fest as MoH, and the co op is 2 players not 4 as often stated in reviews & is only 6 missions.

EA really wants to take the throne of shooters from CoD, but BF won't do it. BF3 is a game that is only fleshed out around it's online component, and EA's cheapness with servers isn't doing it any justice. As it is now, BF3 will appeal to it's core audience, but I don't think it will draw anyone away from Call of Duty. I wasn't that excited about CoD before, but after all my frustration with BF3, I am now.

I dont see where you are having all the problems, the servers have gone down 2-3 times since the game launched on Tuesday. I have played for about 20 hours since then and rarely get dropped from a game, and when I am dropped its usually because the server crashed. The reason Battlefield uses its own servers because games are with 24 people which can not be hosted on PSN or Xbox Live... Yes campaign sucks but oh well, I will bet money that 90% of people buying the game dont care about campaign.

But you can have fun with your pea size maps and campers galore, fake environment, and ridiculous care packages. Im sure MW3 will have a little bug you can fly around now with 30lbs of plastic explosive strapped to it so you can fly down the enemies throat and blow them up. And before you start, I was diehard COD all the way back to COD3 to Black Ops but you cant play normal with any gun except an LMG and hardcore is almost too easy.

I think that one comment that you hear most from some players is what drives me nuts the most. Just because things run smoothly for them, that there's nothing wrong with the game. Checking many forums you'll see I'm not an exception, but one of many. Whether you're a fanboy of CoD or BF doesn't matter, BF consistently has server issues during it's most important week.

I don't begrudge anyone for what style of gameplay they prefer. If you've chosen BF over CoD, cool. It's a matter of choice/opinion. Some prefer the open maps, I prefer close quarters running & gunning. To say there aren't campers in BF is delusional, having been annoyed in BF Conquest or Rush games where half your team wants to be snipers, never helping to take points. The frustration where a pinhead takes a tank, jeep, or helicopter by himself instead of taking a gunner or passengers is one I've never had in CoD. Or that long swear inducing walk to the battle proper because of that same pinhead.

Yes, CoD has had it's share of exploits, thanks to Activision not wanting to shell out for beta testing. Infinity Ward while they made the MW part of the franchise seemed to be annoyed by having to do patches. Treyarch seemed pretty more on the ball when it came to patches. Since people are so fond of giving EA the benefit of the doubt year after year, why not give Sledgehammer Studios benefit of the doubt?

Since I've helped to temporarily derail the thread, thought I'd post some recent purchases...

I've been doing Best Buy's buy 5 games get $100 reward zone credit deal. I started with Gears, followed by Batman, Battlefield this week, Uncharted 3 next week, and I believe the week after that is Call of Duty. This is an insane schedule of releases for games this year.

I do heartily recommend Batman: Arkham City, if you haven't played Arkham Asylum go play it! I think it's the definitive version of Batman, with a very fun & addictive combat system.

No see, its not like that...I did have problems but I understand. They had to launch with their own servers to handle the 24 player games because neither console can do so. Yes they have some problems but they have been updating the servers and fixing all problems since the release. And no they didnt pin the "Beta is old" on after everyone said it sucked. It was on the Battlefield Blog itself before the beta was an hour old saying this is for SERVER TESTING. They even posted a message today saying there would be an hour of downtime for server upgrades. So if you were having problems that werent during Server Downtime then you have a problem, not EA.

Quick note: Just to bury that bit of falsehood. EA didn't HAVE to launch their own servers. EA in 2004 insisted on their own servers for use in XBox Live, because they didn't want to give up the revenue on their online transactions. EA didn't want to give up that money so they balked on putting their games on Live until M$ caved, wanting Madden on their system to compete with Playstation.

When did the first Battlefield game debut on Live? Battlefield 2: Modern Combat in 2005. EA's servers and the needs or benefits of gamers have absolutely NOTHING to do with one another.

Also if one is buying the old 'serving testing' line, then they really did hold one of the crappiest server tests ever as well as releasing a beta they claim they knew was buggy. The same problems they've had with every 360 Live BF released were repeated even after that supposed server test.

If this debate really needs to go any further, I suggest we move it to the gaming forum. ;)

Also found that I had $14 in my PSN account, so I went ahead & got this today...

Not bad, definitely a bit pricey if you aren't a big fan of Infamous. One of the cool things though, is that you can play this DLC without the original game.
