My 2004 Subaru Imprezza "Check Engine Light" came on during the way home from the hospital with our newborn. Took it into the shop today and its a failed oxygen sensor. NZ$900 lighter for that, plus there is another one on its way out but OK for the time being

$900 to replace a O2 sensor?!

It's a pretty easy fix...

My wife and I welcomed our first child into the world last week, a little girl!! WHOOP!! Both super happy and was a nice surprise as we didn't know if it was a boy or girl before hand.

So, 7 days later and suffering from the inevitable sleep deprivation, I venture out the apartment and promptly drop my iPhone 4!! Thankfully the Incipio Feather case took the fall and cracked the corner, saving me the phone.

So, on my errands picked up an Incipio SILICRYLIC in Silver/White. Like it so far.

$900 for an O2 sensor??? I think you got ripped off! I mean, I hope you at least got it installed for that price.

To be fair that's about $743 USD, but it's still very expensive. You can probably buy it from anywhere between $40 to $250 USD depending on the model and brand, and anyone can install them in just a few minutes. It's possible parts are just really expensive in NZ.

Actually its coming in at circa $600NZ now as they have found some aftermarket ones. Thats for the initial check to find the problem, and the parts and install of them. Cheapest I could find in the area too

Thats the problem with New Zealand. You get ripped off for frickin everything as everything comes from overseas so its a captive market for a lot of things. I'd do it myself if I could but I have no tools, no jack and no space to do it in due to living in an apartment block with the tiniest parking bays.

You buy the LivingSocial for the model that you want. After it processes it will then give you a Promo Code. That's what you use when you check out. You pick your color and add to cart. Then you add your promo code at the cart will come out to $0.00
