Just had my offer on a condo accepted. Haven't
officially bought the place, but that was a big step toward making it happen. I am already pre-approved for a loan, now I need to complete the paper work and have the inspection done.
A year ago I wouldn't have pegged myself as someone ready to buy a place. I like traveling and moving around. But I found a great job, and the right opportunity presented itself. This will be my first home purchase, scary how much money is involved! My goal was to find a place I could afford by myself, tired of having roommates.
It's the second floor balcony unit in the picture. Nothing crazy: 2 bed/2 full bath, one is a master bedroom/bathroom suite. Has covered parking (a must in the New England area winters). I can walk to the grocery store and other shopping, and there are running and biking paths right outside. 5 minute drive downtown, could walk if needed. Best part is I'm less than a mile from work, I'll bike in the summer. Will feel great to save on gas and be as "green" as I can.
I really didn't expect to get a place in this area, most were out of my price range, but this just came on the market a week ago and was priced right. Saw it last weekend and new it was exactly what I wanted.
If everything goes well, should be in by the end of next month! Growing up is exciting/scary at the same time
. I still don't think of myself as an "adult", even at 30.
