How are you liking it? I am wanting this phone, I keep checking swappa and ebay for a good deal. They are flooded with the Verizon version but I want the non carrier one
I absolutely
LOVE the Moto Z Play. I moved to the Moto Z Play from a Nexus 6P and it's seriously a night and day difference! As you've probably heard over the internet, the best part about the Moto Z Play is the battery life, which is out of this world. This is the first phone I've ever owned where I don't have any sort of battery anxiety, if that makes sense. It's nice that I don't have to charge it in the middle of the day, I don't have to carry around a portable battery bank, and more. My average usage looks like the attached screenshots. Other aspects of the Moto Z Play that I enjoy are: the wonderful build quality, as well as the fact that the UI is buttery smooth and performance is great, despite the fact that it's not rocking the latest and greatest Snapdragon 820 / 821 processor. My only downside is the fact that the camera isn't Nexus 6P quality, but it's good enough for my usage.
I'm on Cricket and I knew that I wanted a Moto Z Play from the reviews and playing with it at the Verizon store, but it was at least a month before the GSM model was supposed to be released and I knew I didn't want a Verizon model. What I did was I ordered a unlocked model from the UK for about $375 shipped from Clove.co.uk. The UK model supports
all of the major GSM / LTE bands (unlike the US GSM model which was missing key bands for AT&T at launch) used by AT&T and T-Mobile. I'd say to go that route if at all possible. You're saving a chunk of change from the US GSM unlocked model.
