The first "work" I've done in a while. All my AP US History summer work... 24 page long (about) essays (over first five chapters in the text book), one book review, and 5 chapters of vocabulary. Been working all weekend and I just finished about an hour ago. Just in time for the start of school tomorrow.

Wow that brings back bad memories haha. I took that class last year, and yeah its quite an adventure...I definately wouldn't do it again, as I don't really enjoy history. This year I have AP Physics and AP Calculus, so at least I'll be doing something I enjoy.

Good luck on the class and the AP Test.

Depends on what I'm doing. Programming it's pretty much a session of XCode, IB, and SimpleText; relaxing, it's a session of CoverFlow, full screened on one display, and iTunes full screened on the other; writing, it's WriteRoom on one screen and Ulysses on the other. Usually it's just an amalgamation of a bunch of apps.

I've attached a really messy frantic work example (my desktop is usually cluttered with apps until I get fed up and hide them) and then an example of CoverFlow + iTunes, because it's my favorite way of relaxing/studying with my MacBook.

I love this idea for a thread. :)

It always disturbs me how some people have a single playlist for each and every one of their favourite albums. There is a browse button, you know.

Meh, never mind me, many playlists drive me nuts - I'm a neat freak (software-wise).

Hard at work on a Friday morning

Shirking off to the pub about midday though, as is tradition :D

For those interested: bit of LaTeX goodness, and Mathematica over a forwarded X11 connection.

How do you make the Terminal translucent?

It depends on which version of OS X you're running. In Panther onward, it's set in the Terminal menu -> Window Settings... -> Color

Prior to this you had to type out the command:

Code:
defaults write com.apple.Terminal TerminalOpaqueness 0.0

0.0 can be replaced with the decimal level of opaqueness you want, up to 1 (with 1 being 100% opaque).

Mine is pretty messy really.

I have Word open on the top, when I'm working, then Safari underneath. iTunes under that, keeping me sane as you put it (;)), and iChat (and sometimes MSN) open, so I am always only an IM away (although my status is usually away).

Nice thread, I like it.

that's pretty much how i do it, too. except i don't necessarily have iTunes open. if i'm really trying to concentrate, i'll quit iTunes - even having it open and in the backgorund but not playing anything can be a little distracting. i probably shouldn't have iChat or Adium open, either, but i pride myself on being accessible to my friends - either via cell phone or instant messaging.

my safari is usually loaded with tabs for google, wikipedia, and my school's library page.
