I know .. not a dog .. but I still consider them my "pets" - and no, they're not allowed on the couch :)

Here are my kids, Roxy and Olive. Roxy (the dog) is a 4 year old Shepherd-Beagle mix. I got her from the shelter, she had been given back because...she's kind of a handful. She's a very friendly, sweet dog, but she gets a little spooked by kids. I don't think she's ever really bit one, but she'll snap at them. She's very high energy, likes to talk to you a lot, and will put her front paws on your shoulders and lick you all over your face.

Olive (the cat) is a 1 year old domestic-shorthair. Her and the dog get along great (although I think she thinks Roxy is kind of a spaz). She loves to play, and she's also a loudmouth :)

I love Cavalier King Charles spaniels.

So sweet in the face and eyes.

But I hear they are heart-breakers, due to their medical problems.

Not for everyone, as you have to learn to let go.

On a sadder note, our first Cavalier, Higgins, past away this summer at an astounding 16 1/2 years old.

Not my pet, but my Grandmother's dog. She is a 7 year old border collie, and the strangest dog you'll ever meet. They bring her down on weekdays to chase leaves in our garden :)

Excuse the poor quality iSight pictures...

... Lulu, Sarah's number 1 baby, and the best-looking squirrel terrier in the entire United Kingdom! As I type, it's just gone midnight here and she is busy fox-watching on my bedroom windowsill. We put food out at night for 'our' foxes and she waits, patiently, for them to turn up. But when she sleeps, boy does she sleep:)

In the Depths of the SLC!
This is Jasmine, she is my 5 year old Purebred Siberian Cat. I'm allergic to cats so a Siberian is the only way I can go. I have a slight reaction when she is too close to my face, but she hasn't been a problem otherwise.

This was a day after we rescued her from the Animal Shelter;

This was about a week ago;

And this was the other day;

Siberian cats tend to be quiet cats that are very seldom. Not this one! She comes when you call her name and whenever you say her name she meows, and she meows whenever she feels like it too (can be very annoying, cuz she does it even though she doesn't want anything). She isn't very solitary either, she comes up and sits in my lap while I'm on the comp all the time!

In the Depths of the SLC!
Currently there are 5 cats in my house. This is the only one I've got a good photo of.
-snip-

Wow, 5 cats?! I don't know how you do it! And the picture is great, I find it so hard to get a good picture of my cat because the lighting in my house is very poor. The flash is always on and without it you can't see the cat too well (and with it you can see the eyes way too much...).

Haha yeah, 3 are ours. We are housing 2 others for a month or so until my girlfriend gets moved into her new place. The 2 temp. cats are males, and our 3 are females. The females are quite unhappy - especially the dominant one.

I wish I could take credit for the picture, it's awesome. My girlfriend took it, and if you saw the photos before and after you, you'd be amazed they came from the same little session. She was just doing candid shots while the cat was lying in the sun inside the front door and she somehow took this jewel. This was just with a point and shoot camera(albeit a nice one, but still).
