There are all kinds of tutorials online and youtube videos that will walk you right through the steps. There is no need to go it alone and should be no reason to get confused if you follow the steps exactly or do exactly what the video tells you to do. But yes, most of the themes are at least customized using SSH.

It's called "learning." Amazingly enough nobody on the face of the planet popped out of their mummy's tummy knowing how to SSH into a jailbroken iPhone to customize the theme. Just do some googling, some reading, or maybe some YouTube watching if words aren't your forte for learning new info. Eventually you'll realize that you were nowhere near being "doomed."
 
Elegance Blasphemy

My theme has finally been completed.

My home screen is intelliscreen with parts of my home screen and not shown here.
My home screen consists of three themes: PRO iElegance Theme; (Widget) Buntis WAD Clock/Weather; Folders are created by Elegance by Dark; Wallpaper is "Wallpaper Rotation ToD" which rotates 6 wallpapers that I replaced from digitalblasphemy.com. The wallpaper rotates at specific times of the day. I will replace this with BossPaper when I can still use my widget but for now the widget is hidden by BossPaper.

All of these themes have been altered and changed using ssh and I just learned how to do this 3 weeks ago, so for those that are asking how...it is just a matter of getting into the iPhone and learning where it all is, make a change, respring, see the effect and undo it if it is not right. It is really really easy and if I can do it...anyone can. If you screw up then just restore and learn from your mistakes. You can be an iRobot or a Jailbreaker...Your Choice:D

I don't actually mind the stock look of an iPhone so haven't gone for anything crazy, just a few mods and higher quality icons.

For anybody else that has bought iElegance Pro ( the one you pay for), has it been working fine for you? I git it before the last update and it wouldnt let me customize it and i think it was the culprit in crashing my Cydia everytime i tried to go on it afterwards.

I see the guy has updated it though, but did anybody else have any problem with it before?

I just bought it yesterday and I wasn't real impressed. I'm back to using Classica2.

I used it before the update and am using it now. My screen shots are on the previous page. I have not had one crash nor one problem. SSH to change some features has been easy and not caused any dilemmas with my iPhone. I have only had a jailbroke phone for 3 weeks now and am new to the jailbreak world and still not having any problems.

It is NOT iElegance that is causing your problems. It works fine and 100's of users are using it based on this thread and others that he is running. If he was having problems then there would not be 100 pages of requested app conversions.

It is just a guess on my part since it was the last thing i downloaded from cydia before it started crashing on me everytime since. I upgraded to 3.0.1 today and everything is fine and just want to make sure it wont happen again.

That is what you did that I did not...I did not upgrade to 3.0.1, it is a worthless update and was nothing but a scare tactic. I will update to 3.1 when it is released. I am also using a 3GS and not a 3G

I upgraded ONLY because my cydia crashed everytime i tried to open it and itunes wasnt backing up my phone since i updated to 3.0 so yes it may be worthless but i pretty much had to restore anyways so i thought id try the upgrade to see if it made everything work better. So far , so good.

Yeah it worked fine. It was just ugly. And there were no icons for some of the most common apps, which kind of blew my mind because I actually made requests for them when I was using the original version months ago. Either he started over or doesn't bother to put the conversions that he does in his updates and leaves people to search through the 100+ pages of requests on their own...

This happened to me not too long ago actually. Had nothing to do with iElegance though. I ended up having to restore and re-jailbreak to get Cydia working again. Funny thing is I have all the same mods installed and running now that I did when it quit.

Actually...all the original icons are available. There is a zip file in the very first post that he updates with the newly created icons approx. every two weeks. There are over 2000 icons available for download right now with more being created every hour by request.

If you had requested to many then that is why they did not get completed. If you do a few at a time then they get done quicker then any other theme that I have seen. I requested glass orb and some others and they still have not been completed. I have every stock app there is for iElegence theme stored in the zip file that I downloaded.

Well it was cheap and i liked the first one that was free and this one has a lot of things that 95% of themes dont. You can change the fonts for the system, it gives different colors for the SMS has its own sound alerts and it has options as to what you can do to it among other things and the guy who made it says he will be adding more things and be upgrading it.

There are very few themes that i like even though there are hundreds of them, and i know i havent seen a lot of them still but for instance one that many like in here....Illuminous or something like that.....i dont think it is all that great.
It is the only thing i have ever bought.....except i also bought Swirly MMS which i dont need anymore but if they keep improving that, i may switch back. You never know. Ive already bought it.

You must be using a different thread than I am. I just checked the first post of the 183 page modmyi.com thread (where I made all of my requests) and there was no zip.

Any way you could post it up for me?
