How do you get app icons to stay on the border or wherever you want on the home screen? By default (without JB), the apps always move to the top most spot so there are no empty spots in between icons. For example: post 181,182

BTW: Here is what I have so far. Haven't gotten SSH to work yet, so just a changed theme (Glass Orb) and the icons at the top (status bar).

you use blank icons...in cydia get the repo steffwiz and there are some blank icon packages..

You have to insert blank icons.

Edit: Already answered as I was distracted.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick replies! But how in the world do you use the blank apps? I know how to use Cydia, but not SSH (if that's what you need). Can anyone give me a link to an easy guide to set up SSH with something like Cyberduck on Mac. Is it easier to use Cyberduck or Terminal? Thanks in advance!

If you can get your hands on a copy of "Transmit" that is what I would recommend if your using a MAC. I do not use Netatalk because you would have to have two Finder windows open and drag files back and forth. Transmit is awesome for doing this and it does it very well.

download the repo that i said above and once the blank apps are on your screen just move them around where you want them..hold down an app like you are going to move it and you will see where the blank apps are...basically they are just spaces they dont actually represent an app. and for cyberduck plug in ur iphone...open cyberduck and click open connection..set protocol to sftp..go to wifi on ur iphone and click the arrow to the right of the network that you are on and you will see the ip address..type that in the server blank in cyberduck and for the username use root and password use alpine..theres probably a link out there but thats how i do it.

But what's the point of plugging the iPhone in but then using WiFi? Is it easier (obviously faster) using USB? Because I would sit next to my computer either way. If it is easier using USB, how do you do it?

SSH uses WiFi. You can also do it by creating an adhoc network on your MAC and connecting to it on your iPhone. Plugging in using USB keeps SSH on (won't go to sleep as it would if you didn't have it plugged in).

Okay. Thanks to both of you guys, Bear Hunter and rjansen21, for the quick replies. I should be able to figure it out now.

I would love to see how this is done as well. Please post a tutorial. :)
Hey cowboy that's what I was referring to

My theme my signal bar (you should recognize the weather widget since your using it on your Cardinals theme you are creating, or did someone steal the widget and put it on Cydia as well?). You need to edit the following and push your temp more to the right...and since your city name is shorter than "Yorktown", you need to center the large weather icon by moving it more to the left.

To move the current temp over to the right add about 15px
Code:
#temp{
    font-weight:normal;
    padding-left:65px;
    color:white

rjansen...Your welcome. I also created a Retro Apple Signal Bar...Let me know if you see that on Cydia as well. A quick search didn't turn it up.

I thought I'd post an updated screenshot. BTW, cheers to Bear Hunter for the Retro Apple Signal bars, and thanks to everyone who designed most of my icons.

Some updates: installed the rest of the Glass Orb theme, changed the colouring of the dock, and finally found some blank apps. Looks much cleaner with the consistent black & white theme. :)

I'm making a Arizona Cardinals theme. The one on Cydia I didn't care for. It's a combo of that and iGlassol.

Hey I love what you have done... Everyone here seems to have that weather widget on their homescreen... I have literally spent hours upon hours searching for the widget but I cannot for the life of me locate it. How do I find / install it?

Please Advise,

I love stacks, but I have a 'dead/blank/' icon in there and every time I press it my phone goes into safe mode...anyone else seen this and have a possibly solution?

That means you deleted an app before removing it from stacks. Reinstall the app, remove it from stacks, then delete.

What i have noticed is, when there are 5 icons in the stack, the icon at the top will not work. When you touch it, it loads the app that is behind it on the spring board:confused:

Here's mine

Reflective Dock Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a new iPhone user, and I am debating on whether or not to jailbreak tonight.

I want to jailbreak for little things, like this Leapord-like dock. If I jailbreak, how would I do simple mods like this dock-swap? Are they available via Cydia and/or Installer?

Thanks for the help. :apple:

If you jailbreak, I would only install Cydia. Installer is pretty much useless. You will then need to download a program called Winterboard (from Cydia) and the themes/docks/slider etc that you want to use. Once downloaded, you open Winterboard to "turn it on."
