I don't know if you've noticed, but iBlue hasn't been posting here for a few weeks now due to some personal issues.

But I'm sure nobody who has asked for iBlue shirt updates really cares as long as they get to ogle.

My beloved Sgt. Pepper shirt.

Don't be so sure of yourself.

Knowing that someone is still above the dirt counts for something.

At least at my age it does. :D

Here's mine. Both from topman (love it, one of my many nicknames is Topdan :D) The cardigan is blue even though it looks kinda purpley. :) anyone else a topman fan?

Topman seems like the Urban Outfitters of England, interesting.

Not sure if that's a good comparison. Topman mainly sells their own clothing line, while Urban Outfitters sells trendy, hip, specialty brands and sub-brands that they advertise as being unique (but the brands and stuff they sell are actually quite mainstream). Topman's image is more similar to American Apparel, except they have logos and interesting stuff on their shirts, while American Apparel are plain and can double as underwear. ;)

I own a few things from Topman. I particularly like a pair of Topman trousers I purchased 5 years ago. They're awesome.

A little off-topic, but what other stores would you say compare to Urban Outfitters? I've been looking for some other stores that offer the same sort of thing.

Urban Outfitters in the UK, they are opening a lot more stores now.

H&M and Topman are also pretty big high street fashion stores but again sell there own clothing lines and not other brand clothing lines.

H&M is cheap but it's cheap for a reason. Their clothes are of horrible quality.

This is just my opinion, but there are probably quite a few stores in trendy parts of your city that are similar to Urban Outfitters. However, they're an entire chain of these stores rather than an individual shop. I guess going to these individual shops would be similar to shopping at Urban Outfitters. The stuff at UO is pretty standardized between different stores, while individual shops probably stock brands and clothes that UO doesn't sell.

I don't have a better example because there are lots of stores that only sell brand-name clothes (e.g. department stores), albeit not with the aim of selling their trendier clothing lines. ;)

IMO, Topman is better than stores like River Island or H&M. H&M has a cool look, but the quality is very low (as are the prices), so I wouldn't shop there. River Island's quality is good for the price, but like Abercrombie, they're a bit more staid......more "suburban". Anytime you see a line of shirts or trousers that River Island tries to market as "trendy", I can't help but think that a bunch of 40-somethings dressed turtlenecks probably sat in a River Island corporate boardroom and decided, "Lets add a few stripes, patterns, rips, and flair to several of our shirts to make them more 'hip' with the kids. We can even charge an extra £10 for it."

Topman is far more consistent with their brand image. If their 'cool' image and clothing designs are the product of a geeky, middle-aged marketing team, then Top Shop has been very clever and VERY consistent in their effort over the years, because if they market something as "cool", nobody would ever mistaken it for products from Gap, River Island, Abercrombie, etc.

This is all my opinion. I don't shop at any of these stores, really. ;)

Sweet jumper, got it from a shop down in town. I got the shirt in Dubai, so ehh.

Nice.

That seems a bit harsh. I have to admit that I find this thread oddly compelling, and miss iBlue's regular postings. She is a popular member of the MR community and it saddens me to hear that she is having any personal issues.

Can't believe I am THAT different from many of the other members...

I hope she comes back soon - posting in this thread or elsewhere...

That seems a bit harsh.

Then I wasn't directing the comment at you. It was more towards the 2 or 3 guys who are screaming out for more photos from her, showing their disappointment over the lack of boobage. I love the feeling of entitlement that people today seem to have when there's something they want. Nothing was owed or promised to them. Interest in shirts is one thing, but this is different. Besides, the whole "We want [xyz] now!!" attitude here and in the iPhone forums has really gotten out of hand, and I really think I could have been harsher. ;) To me, calling out for more photos from Person X is like there stereotype of construction workers whistling and yelling at hot girls walking by.

So Brisbane is like the Florida of Australia, I'm assuming. Still tho, 9ºC isn't that cold. I'm not picking on you I just find it amazing how the body adapts and such. :)

What's the coldest it gets during the winter?

I'm from Canada, and the last time I was in Toronto, it was -25 to -30 C with the windchill factor. When I landed in Sydney, it was 30 C. That's a big swing!! Trust me, you get acclimatized after a few months, and 5-10 C will send a chill through your body. ;)
