The sad part is I remember that, and almost wet myself laughing when I first saw it.

Also, abstract I know how you like to have weird animals as your avatars, and this lolcat makes me think of something you'd use.

Yikes, I am glad to hear that you're supporting the penguins out of the States, however I am sad to hear that you have to live in France.

I have a tiff with them, I have been to France, a small French community in Florida, and of course parts of French Canada. Nowhere were they nice to me. I even spoke French with them. So I have a pretty strong dislike for them, because apparently they hate me.
 
Well, of course they do.

You were speaking Parisienne French, probably, and they speak a patios version of same.

They immediately know you're are an Anglo, or some such, and hate you for it.

I've been to France. Go!!

Went to see the Dandy Warhols in concert last night, it was an awesome show. And I love this shirt that I got, luckily the marijuana leaf isn't too noticeable and I can get away with wearing it to school.

Naaa, they don't hate you, you just have to learn that French people have a whole different take on what it means to interact with people they don't know very well. French people are different from anglo-saxon types in deep, fundamental ways, and it takes a long time to learn how to tell when they're actually trying to be rude:cool:.

And this whole anti-Americanism in France business is WAAY overblown...sure it exists, just like everywhere else, but I'm a firm believer in the principle that you find what you look for, and most Americans come to France looking for it.

Besides, as iJohnHenry alluded to, your average non-Parisian French person hates Parisians a lot more than Americans; here you find some real, deep-seated animosity.

In any case, I stick with my Pens jerseys, despite the stares, which aren't all negative...if I weren't married I think I could use them to pick up chicks:).
