That's the key point. Rogers is nothing on his own. He's a genius lyricist. And Gilmour's a genius writer. That's what made them such a special combination in my opinion. But yeah I'm with you. I have to be in the right mood to listen to some of the darker stuff. Whereas I could pretty much listen to Gilmour all day long.
Think I will go as far to say this my favorite album from the group and it has recently made it to my list of top 100 albums. Such a great album in my opinion; recommended indeed!
LOL the only Erasure song I know is in an Adult Swim online game known as Robot Unicorn Attack.
Currently listening to the Sempiternal album by Bring Me The Horizon. I saw them live at Warped Tour last summer and they put on a pretty good show. Definitely can't say that for every band I've seen at my two Warped Tour experiences.
I love that design so much that I've considered getting it as my 6th tattoo.
Ha guess I'm not the first to think of that idea. I wouldn't get it in that location though.
A very good debut album, somewhere between Neo-Prog, Prog and so on - nice fat synth leads, Mike Oldfield-y guitars, good vocals (not-so-great lyrics), on IQ's label Giant Electric Pea..
On a side note - Artwork is by Freya Dean, Roger Dean's daughter. Yes!
(and IQ's "Road of Bones" is coming out in May, most anticipated album of the year for me!)
Only just discovered Ludovico Einaudi but the great thing about finding someone you have not heard before, who has been around a while, means you get to listen to their whole back catalogue of work
