hey, do you know how the finish is on the blackbooks? is it the same as on these black nanos? the matte, smooth feel?

Yes. Thats why I didnt go for the black one. God forbid you have sweat, or grease on your fingers, because it will noticed on the black nano. When i went to the apple store, I picked up the black one first and right away saw all the fingerprints on it that people had put on. I went with the blue because I had a green mini before, and I thought it would be dumb to buy the same color. The blue is real nice, most of the people that where buying nanos at the same time as me were buying the blue one.

Yeah I went with green because I had a blue mini previously as well.

Could someone please take a pic with a 1G and 2G nano side by side?

Maybe it's just me, but is the 2G nano longer than the 1G nano???

Same length and width, ever-so-slightly thinner (0.4mm thinner) - you're eyes are probably tricking you because of the 1G nano's rounded top and bottom corners. On the 2G nano the top and bottom are straight but the sides are rounded.

A similar phenomenon occurred when the 5G iPod came out, we all thought it was wider because we associated the size of the click-wheel and the gaps around the screen with the same dimensions on the 4G iPod.

I see that there isn't a "do not eat" warning on there. Does that mean it's okay?
Of course, the new colours match the flavours.

silver is coconut, pink is raspberry, blue is wildberry, green is mint(eww), and black is of course liquorice.

:eek:

silver = coconut
pink = cherry
blue = blueberry
green = watermelon
black = liquorice

I'll post mine when I rob a bank or when Santa pays me a visit:D

How ignorant that my brother bought a 1 GB Black Nano on September 11th? He had no clue about "Showtime"?

He is really pissed...:D

Blue is Awesome

Hey guys - I just sold my 1st Gen Nano and went over to Best Buy to pick up a new one (No Apple store nearby). Best Buy unfortunately did not have them, despite the website saying they would. Determined not to go home un-Nano-ed, I went to Circuit City to try there - bingo.

I could only see them through the glass, but it was between Green, Silver, and Blue. The all looked a little bland, but then when someone pulled them out of the glass, the blue GLOWED when it was put in the light. Hands down, it won the color competition...

I found that pink was the brightest when I had a look guess we all have our preferences :D

The one thing that I love about the new nanos is the texture - no more fingerprints!

I wasn't in love with it at first, like I was with my 1g nano, but it's growing on me :)

I think I just climaxed.

That new battery is absolutely beautiful. While I've never really run into battery problems with my current nano (just my cellphone!) that new aluminum finish is EXACTLY WHAT THE FIRST NANO SHOULD HAVE HAD. :mad:

If I manage to sell this one I think I can get a second generation by Christmas. I also think my parents would freak out on me for going through six iPods in about two years. :D

Does the 2g nanos screen still get scratched by stuff really easily or have they magically fix that.

nice pics 840quadra! i really want one now....even though I have a 1G black nano which is barely over 50% full.....I'm just sick of seeing the few scratches that are on it and how easily fingerprints are left on it. Christmas isn't too far off....now I just have to pick a color....and one Q: is the shade of blue as light as it appears on the apple site? or is it darker in person?

I took mine to university yesterday listening to it for about 5-6 hours battery is still near full capacity :D The longer battery life is the best addition I think.

Agreed!

I work 12 hour shifts at my job. I turned on my nano at 6am today, listened to it through speekers in the bathroom while taking a shower and getting set for work, drove to work, listened to it at work (leaving it on even when not listening to it), Drove home, and turned it off about an hour ago.

The battery was not even close to being in the red, and it it had been on for about 15 hours! This time includes many times skipping songs, playing Solitare for a bit during a meeting (group phone call), and creating on the go playlists!
