It would seem 2GB is becoming the new 512 standard or is it just me? Or is it just the small enthusiast groups on here?

To have every single application open and running is an absolute must. To be able to look at pr0n while watching eps of Battlestar Galactica and writing a research paper about social security #'s and how their current use will lead to rapid increase in identity theft, along with editing raw picture files from digital cameras and incorporating them into a film in Final Cut Studio is an absolute MUST.

Nice, I love it when people stick to their old hardware and try to give it some extra life. I currently have a 400 ghz sawtooth that I just updated with 896 mb ram and am waiting on a 1.1 ghz processor courtesy of disconap. After that I'm adding a USB 2.0 card, and a bigger hard drive. Then I'm set to have it control my miglia tvmax for all my recordings. I'm so surprised at how zippy the G4 still is. My needs are so conformed to a G4 that I don't feel the difference between my tibook and my intel imac at work for my use.

2GB is even standard on the new MBP's, so yes....2GB is the new standard
