i have the same MBP :D:D

hopefully upgrading to a corei7 iMac soon. that will be a WONDERFUL update.

Haven't been able to convert the daily home desktops to Mac yet, and doubt I'll be able to.

As for the MBP, waiting until at least next summer to upgrade, but who knows, this one is still going strong.

Ya it's a bummer.I'm on my ibook right now cruising macrumors forums and it's pretty sweet,i'm pretty happy. And i'm finally installing osx 10.3 on my Tangerine behind me.But for youtube, this computer is not good at all.

how are you able to install OS X on an older machine that doesn't meet the specs? I tried to install Leopard onto the Tibook and although Installer loaded it said it didn't meet requirements.

Try a program called LeopardAssist. I used it on my Gig-E and Quicksilver PowerMac G4s and it worked great.

Because OSX 10.5 Leopard only works with a computer with 867Mhz Min.
My iBooks are 300mhz ans 466mhz with over the 128MB ram requirement for 10.3 Panther and over the 256MB ram requirement for 10.4 Tiger.:)

Stock 15" MBP. Don't see the need to change anything! Except maybe a hard drive upgrade. :)

Can I have your old one when you get the new one? That will be a WONDERFUL update from my PowerBook G4.

I think the battery lasts longer with OS X server.

These are my personal machines.

The Gig-E is in limbo, likely to be recycled or donated soon, and I can't bring myself to replace the hard drive in my iBook because I honestly can't see myself wasting that much time on something not likely to bring that much back in terms of usefulness.

For being 5 years old and almost 8 years old respectively, they're both surprisingly useful still. Though in fairness, the QS has been heavily upgraded.

I finally got my Hackbook Pro back up and running, now to get Leopard Server on it! :D

The 2GHz/2GB is a Dell e1505/6400 and the 2.66GHz/4GB is my 24" iMac

Also, the Hack's "About This Mac" is completely stock, wasnt edited once :D

I can't understand why you folks are paying for an OS that cost more than the computer (at least current value).
