i tried that... ordered baltic blue and black to help my decision which one to keep. Bottom line: the weak me failed both straps are still with me and i love and wear em both.
so.. buying and wearing both sounds valid.. and sell, if you get tired/bored using it ;)

Lol same here. Purchased 2 and intended to return 1 but both are still with me now.

I purchased only one - the black leather link, and it has hardly left my wrist in months. It's by far my favorite band now. I'm probably going to order the poppy or blue one next. :)

While expensive, I have purchased several leather loop knockoffs over the years (I've been wearing the 38/40mm case since since 2015) and each one started to peel or degrade after anywhere from three months to a year (and that included rotating with other bands). I would have purchased an Apple Leather Loop if they offered it in the smaller case size, so I was excited when the leather link was released for both case sizes. After wearing it for about four months I can say the quality of the $100 Apple Leather Link is much better than the typical $20 to $40 knockoff. I expect it will easily last three to 5 times longer as well. I own other third party straps/bands that are excellent, but the third party leather loop and leather link knockoffs just don't last very long. I'd rather pay $100 for something that looks better, feels better, and that will surely last longer. In fact, I bought the Apple leather link when the faux leather on my most recently purchased leather loop knockoff started to peel.

This is my California Poppy leather link with Blue Aluminum Case :)
The color contrast is spectacular for me, I tryed also the Baltic Blue version of leather link but the blue of the band doesn't go well with the blue of the case so I returned it.
I also bought diver blue leather loop band and in this case the blue is very affine with blue case.
I'm very very happy with them :D

Posted this in the Every Band thread too but picked up Baltic Blue today. I think it’ll work well with SSS as well but for now here it is with the Graphite. For reference Blue Cobalt appears as a pretty good match on the watch face (although it looks very different in the photos).

That is one stylin’ sexy looking watch, sir! The Graphite hues are fantastic.

Do you find it’s more on the yellow, orange, or gold side? Looks nice regardless.

Any experience with daily use of the leather link? I am in NYC if that matters.

I just got a saddle brown and it's nice, but a little heavy (for a band). Gets a bit sweaty at times / not as breathable as I expected. Probalby going to return it and stick with the more comfortable bands like sport loop, solo loop, solo braided loop. Have a milanese for dressy occasions (least comfortable).

Changed my mind. Maybe it took a few more days to wear in, it seems more comfortable, very nice band.

I use the leather link band during hard workouts and sweat quite a lot, but do not experience this as a problem. I intend to treat the link with Obenauf's Beeswax Leather Conditioner, Heavy Duty LP.

Anyone have any info on why chalk was removed from the store after just a couple months?”
I see what you are talking about. However, today. if you choose a Ti SB, the band is pictured with the watch as the default picture.

I see the chalk still being sold online. You have click on the product page itself. They seem to move it off the page that showcases all the watch band, but looks like it is back for me.

They are great colors, just beware, the paint will start to flake off around the 3 to 6 month mark and Apple won't replace it for you under warranty. $99 dollar won't last a full year with out starting to disintegrate.

Just like leather shoes and jackets rubbing against something. The straps are “painted”, there is no animal with white, red, orange, blue skin. Nothing new to us who use to wear leather. Get a rubber strap if leather is not for you.

Does anyone have any experience with the leather link and rain? I have the silicone/rubber solo loop by default and I'm going to be getting a saddle brown leather link band soon to look more classy with my Apple Watch, but I know the leather link isn't water resistant. But if it's raining and I'm holding an umbrella, should I be concerned if a few drops of water lands on the band?

I would think it depends on how much it is raining. I also don’t think it is unique to the leather link. I would think that water is an issue for any leather band.

Leather watch bands have been around for ages and I cannot believe people have not been caught in the rain and yet their bands have survived.

Additionally, if you know from the forecast there is a likelihood of rain and you are concerned about the band, then why wear it that day?

Good Luck

I have the black leather link and it’s probably one of my favourite watch band now. Much more comfortable compared to the old leather loop. The leather link also feels very light, easy to put on, yet very secure with strong magnets. Completely eliminated that shifting magnet feel you sometimes get with the old leather loop. Very happy with it.

I wear size 7 sport/braided loop and the S/M fits me perfectly.

What watch is that man. Looks like brushes aluminium

This is my first leather band. At first, my plan was to only occasionally wear it. Now, I find it too comfortable to swap out.

It's the S7 midnight with midnight leather band. First pic is no flash and second pic is with flash.
