sweet!!! you impressed so far? first things that shocked me when I got mine, how fast it focuses and how quiet it is when focusing.

Very impressed, those were the first things I noticed as well. I took the lens to a softball and baseball game to test it out and was extremely impressed. The baseball pictures are a lot better though as they were in bright daylight, while the softball game got more difficult to get pictures of as the night rolled on.

It's extremely sharp and extremely fast. I'm overly satisfied.

Well now it's time to get over the the photo of the day thread and start posting. Just remember one photo per day over there otherwise you get told off.

Nice equipment everyone. I would kill to get into photography but it's an expensive hobby, my phone is all I have to work with for the time being. :(

In front of my MacBook Pro
EOS Digital Rebel, 18-55 mm and 75-300 mm lenses, still goin' strong after all these years. It's a good camera, but it will be retired soon with a Rebel XSi and its lenses replaced with similar ones, except with image stabilization.

Just ordered the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens to replace my 50mm f/1.8 (figured I might as well upgrade while I'm at it) that was stolen along with my XTi and other lenses. After this lens, I'm looking at grabbing the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro...anyone have any opinions on this or other macro lenses?

Haven't updated my gear photo's per se, so this is an old photo.

The 1DII has since been replaced by the 5D. I unfortunately had to sell my 20D for financial reasons. I also added the 70-200 f/4 to the collection as well.

Just ordered the 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens. Can't friggin wait! Wildlife around my home has completely died out (thanks to my feline predator that roams the premisses, probably) so I don't really have any birds or rodents and such to photograph without going out a bit further so my 70-200mm f/4L is only getting main usage at sporting events...kinda sucks right now, I'm hoping the situation will improve.

The Macro will let me get some sweet nature shots :)
