I'm terrible at coming up with a "Christmas List" in the last few years. I've looked at hundreds of "Best Gifts for X" lists, and still don't have a list longer than 3 items. Problem is, I have my own money and buy what I want, when I can/want--and I pretty much have everything I want.

So I hope everyone can play along, and come up with some great holiday gifts (yes, non-Apple stuff!) for people like me. Here is what I have so far....

Monopoly Luxury Edition
I love monopoly, even already have the previous wooden version, so this one is hard to justify.

My list is so specialized that nobody can find the items. So I ordered two Sage Method fly rod build kits and will assemble them over the Christmas break.

In common with almost everyone else who has posted, must admit that I love the Monopoly set. Gorgeous - I love those old wooden sets, the quality and feel of the pieces is just so much better than with modern versions of plastic. Must set about obtaining a Cluedo set (wooden) and indeed, a Monopoly set sometime.

Now that monopoly set is something that is hard to get...

Wow love that Monopoly set

Agree with you both that the Monopoly set is stunning and that those old wooden boards and sets are really a pleasure to use and play with.

Around three years ago, I bought one of those old wooden board games of Cluedo for the kids of friends of mine (and thoroughly enjoyed playing with them myself).

That's good to know. I thinking about getting 6.75 qt size. I'm think that size is a good medium size.

Well, they are great - as in there is a feeling of physical pleasure - to cook with, look fantastic, and the food tastes terrific. What is there not to like? They also last forever…and are very hard wearing. Easy to clean. And make you look like a pro in the kitchen..

I have been mulling over those nice wooden box sets of both Cluedo and Scrabble. A small, German owned lovely little toy shop housed in a 16th century building currently sells them...

In reality...I asked for nothing for Christmas. Having a 2 year old son, I am more excited to see him get exciting Christmas Morning.

Plus, my wife and I are going to Montreal for her 30th bday and then two weeks later to Florida for 2 weeks. (we live in Northern Ontario).

My wife on the other hand...had a Christmas list 2 pages long...which I reluctantly bought her everything on it /sucker

Why reluctantly?

Happy wives tend to equal a happy marriage.

Anyway, my advice is to never begrudge a genuine gift; give it happily, or refuse to partake in the idea of purchasing it.

For my part, anything on my own personal 'Christmas' list will have to be subsidised (by me) and I doubt that it will be delivered anywhere near December 25.

And early gift - to myself - was acquired yesterday; the rest, I suspect, may have to wait until January.

I wish my wife gave me a Christmas list. She's impossible to buy for.
