How well does it handle, given that 3.1 (and 3.11) tends to crap out and BSOD with any form of modern website?

I'm guessing you're also on Opera 6 for browsing? I assume this given that its the only browser for 3.1 capable of loading anything of a large size without crashing (and even then its worse quality than IE 5.

Really interested to know how it handles :)

Well, it's not terribly great on the Internet, but not too bad either. I can check my email, read forums, use Google Search and Google Images alright, but newer stuff with Java and Flash doesn't work and will cause MSIE5 to freeze every once in a while.

To tell you the truth, Windows 3.1's about as good as Mac OS 9.2 for Internet. Both use a similar browser (MSIE5) and I run them on similar machines (a 200Mhz Pentium versus a 266Mhz PowerPC), so performance has been just about the same from my experience.

Well, why not? :) Windows 3.1 runs nice and fast, works great with my older games from the 1990's, and is very secure for Internet usage (just think about how many viruses these days are made for 16-bit operating systems). I go online with that computer just about every day and it handles low-scale Internet stuff pretty well.

I also have computers running Windows 7 and 2000, along with Macintosh System/OS 6, 7, 8.5, and 9.2. I can post some of those desktops if y'all would like!

Yeah Post Some! :)

Nice!...she is a hottie. How did you get your date in the bottom right corner? It looks like a nice handy little tab to have. :)

She is! I simply made the black tab in photoshop and added it to the wallpaper, the date and time are done with a few Geektool commands, for me simplicity is key :)

Hope it helped, Lou

I LOVE THIS! My 4yo loves TMNT now. The cartoon, the live-action films, all of it. I am a proud papa.
