I've today been busy geek-tooling and created my own version of the sandy beach desktop and wrote my own non-resource intensive apple script implementation to show the current playing track and artwork in either iTunes (and/)or Spotify. You've obviously seen most of this before, but I like the way the iTunes / Spotify script works. I'll probably put it on github in the future...

I've been trying but unfortunately not... I'm not a fan of the transparent menubar anyway so it doesn't really bother me
