AFAIK the menubar adapts itself to the top zone of your wallpaper. I often tweak my wallpapers in Pixelmator by adding a 48px high stroke of solid white or black, and then play with the opacity until the menubar changes the way I want it to.My current wallpaper. Also how can I get the menu bar to change colour (be more translucent) depending on the wallpaper I'm using?

Do you happen to have "Reduce transparency" enabled?Well I have tried different wallpapers and the menu bar stays grey the whole time. It only changes if I enable dark mode.
