Gorgeous wallpaper. Link?

What Mac do you have? I'll bet that looks awesome on a retina display (I have a MBA so no retina display. :()

Thank you, I have a Retina 5k late 2015 iMac and that's one of my favourite wallpapers, the colours are just marvellous and they look so vivid on the 5k display.

How did you get all round icons??

I was hoping someone would notice :) When Yosemite was released I made an effort to scour the web for the most beautiful, circular icons, most of them though were found on this forum.

Another FreeBSD-based system. This time, on a 15" MacBookPro with Retina display. Installed to, and booted from, a 16 GB Kingston DataTraveler G4 USB flash drive. Pleasantly responsive. MATE desktop environment.

Is the a website online that I can learn how to do this?
You can download Celestia here...

http://celestiaproject.net/download.html

You will have to get familiar with celestial coding (basic text files) and how the add-ons work.
I've been dabbling with it since 2002...

I sort of taught myself.

I used photoshop to extract all the textures for the jupiter animation.

[Edit]... this is definitely NOT a scientific representation... Jupiters's atmosphere is much more dynamic, with its swirls and currents... at the moment impossible to depict within Celestia.

My animation was to be a background to a talk at OU about Juno.. it will loop seamlessly for 2 hours!

I'm afraid not realistic at all.

Took about 30 hours to sort out... that should put anyone off.

This view is much more rewarding!

You have given me yet another thing to start playing with. This is one of the neatest programs I've come across in a long time.
