this is where some people would say " for crying outloud..."
.

Thanks :p

Oh And how do I make it so that I can put folders in the drawer? I copied and pasted but its just sitting there with just the icon changed and I can't see the folders in Applications in the drawer...

And every time I log back in after logging out, the icon changes to the blue folders again. Am I doing something wrong?

this will do all the work for u:
stacksindaplace

to stop seeing the blue folder.. right click the stack and choose display as "stack" instead of "folder"

how and why would you make a program that just puts the pic in the folder.

lame as F($*
die newbs

How does everyone get the black "floor" for their dock? I also have Leopard...

1. Get TinkerTool (use Google)
2. Open TinkerTool (use mouse)
3. Select "Dock" button (use left click)
4. Select "Disable Three-Dimensional Glass effect" (use left click again)
5. Click "Relaunch Dock" (use left click yet again)
5. Send me $5 via PayPal

...unless you mean using using a black 3D dock... in which case:

1. Get DockTweak (use Google)
2. Open DockTweak (use... well, you know....)
3. You get the idea.
216. Send me $7.38 via PayPal

Enjoi :)

You aint ready for this!

Well, actually, if you have seen basic Leopard docks before you probably are... Oh well.

i actually don't have a problem with that program since I have not yet able to find a different way of doing it. If you don't like it then don't take the advice, no need to diss each other. Instead of dropping the f-bomb or saying things like "die newbs", if you have a better idea or a better way of doing something then why don't you share it with the rest of us. Isn't that what this forum is about?

dude
all that program does is put the drawer icons in the folder then it makes the display as a stack not a folder.

all you do when you want to have the drawer without the program is put the drawer file in the stack and make its name a1 or something and arrange the folder alphabetcally and then make it a stacks file not a folder.

now tell me why that program is good?

i should have guessed it wasn't something good when there is a da in the name of it

and pardon my spelling as spell cheak is not working right now for some reason

Im fully aware of what it does. I've been using it for weeks. As I have stated, it's the best automatic app that replaces the stacks that I have found so far. Since I have not yet discovered any other..better ways of doing it, this is the best way for me so far. Therefore, when someone asked, I recommended what I know. If you know of a better way or have some free time to research, then why don't you educate me/us.

anyways.. lets get back to the docks "dude".

I like mine as minimal as possible.

Programs I use straight away-ish are in the dock, or else I click on the apps folder stack (grid).

The Prefs is handy to have in the dock and the other two stack folders are for documents and downloads.

i just told you how to do it in my last post.
1. get a blank folder
2. get info of folder
3. get info of drawer icon
4. click upper left hand where the icon is shown on get info of the drawer icon ( it should have blue around it )
5. copy that
6. copy icon to the blank folder by clicking on its icon until its blue and pasting it.
7. now put that folder in your stacks
8. make the name of that folder a1
9 arrange the files in your stack alphabetically
10 right click on the stack and make it a stack not a folder.

i do not see what is so diffrent of how i already told and showed you.

Most of mine are pretty basic, the only ones that might need explaining are PokerStars (with a Mac version now, yay), which is the red spade, VMWare Fusion, which is between Bluetooth File Exchange and System Prefs, and my Trash stack, just to the left of the Trash. :)

And I have my apps, utilities, and running non-docked apps separated.

Nothing special. Decided to go with the clear option 2D. Only the most necessary icons on the dock.
