noob question, what application can i use to change the icon on my mbp?

you can use candybar, or the simple icons you can change by yourself.

that's maybe a step i'm going to, but for the moment i still also love having nice bright big icons in the dock

You wouldn't happen to have the files needed to make the necessary changes for that Dock would you...especially one where the dock separator isn't excluded

i do; if you PM me your e-mail address, i'll happily share.

if you prefer, i can also just tell you that to get rid of the separator image, you'll need to change separator.png in the Dock resources folder to a blank image. same with frontline.png. the actual "shelf" is an image made in photoshop and the dot beneath active applications is the indicator_medium_simple.png file renamed indicator_large.png.

like i said, i'm happy to e-mail these edited files.

I recommend trying it for a day, and seeing how you like it...I never got why bigtime QS users have the icon in the dock...

Here is mine with just Apple apps in the Dock. All other apps are accessed through the Applications folder on the right hand side of the Dock.

how are people changing their docks with leopard? Does clear dock work? I saw a thread about a glass looking dock but can't seem to find it. I don't like the stack of the applications folder I like just the normal folder... how would i change that? Can I?
