Personally built speakers replacing some 1970's vintage EPI 100. The EPI's were great but the pair drew 4 ohms and couldn't support a 3.1 or 5.1 setup.
Seas 7" reed/paper cone woofer and Seas 1" tweeter. While kit commercially sold as SR71, I worked from schematic plans and used higher level crossover components than the commercial kit. Enclosure and matching stand was a woodworking project. Magnets embedded under the veneer for clean look when grill off.

Nice looking speakers, you do good woodwork! From the description I bet they sound great too.
How low do they low do they go with the 7”? Do you even need a subwoofer?
Just bought this: a Braun CEV 500. Never sold in the US, but this one came from Canada. Has weird german audio connections, but I'll figure that out. This one needs a little love (and is missing a knob), but I've always loved the look of Braun audio equipment, and this one in particular. Here's a photo from the ebay ad:
