I have a good friend who lives in Bethany, and I write freelance for two publications based in Lewes. :D

I ran through the Academy tonight and can't wait till graduation week; Blue Angels, Herndon climb....

Yeah, that's a new 100-400L IS USM, still on a big learning curve with it, though getting better.

I'm mainly an aerial photographer, but I'm starting to do some sailboat and powerboat photography, which requires a longer reach.

Obviously my Website needs work, but I'm trying to learn Flash so I can do the whole site with that application.

Cheers,

Gary

My 12" iBook Setup. ;)

Well here is latest, revised set-up. I am now very proud of it although it does need some things tweaking with it. ;)

This is my iBook against the World's greatest flag, 'nuff said!

The iBook taken from the front right side. A nice view if I may say so myself.

This is my iBook taken from the right hand side. It also shows a close up of the Griffin Technology iCurve which is one of the best items that compliments my set-up.

My complete set-up taken from a 'Bird's eye view'. I think this view shows off my frosted glass desk in the best manner possible.

The Macintosh Classic II taken from the front left angle. Also pictured is my HP psc 1215 All-In-One.

A face on view of the Macintosh Classic II. It still needs a bit of cleaning, but once I work out the best way to do this, it will look great.

I am planning on getting some Harmon/Kardon Soundstick II, which I feel will complement the set-up quite well. I hope you like it, I sure as hell do!

Also posted in the past and present thread....

Here's pics of my setup. The specs are in my sig. It's not normally this neat and tidy, but these were taken right after I finished cleaning up the place. The TV on the left which looks tiny compared to my monster center channel will be replaced with a larger HD set soon. Also, I need to get a cord channel to hide the wires coming down from the shelves. I used some of them to hide speaker wires and lamp cords in the back of the room (pics here), painted with the same color as the wall, and they look awesome. Computer specs are in my sig. :D

Very nice set up ghostee. Do you ever have problems seeing the iBook's screen from that far away through? It looks like it'd be pretty tricky from the photos but that might just be an illusion.

Thank you, and that is no illusion, the screen is small from my normal distance. I'll occaisonally pull the iCurve forwards, but I usually find myself leaning forward over the keyboard. It's not all that comfortable really, and the screen is not big enough for my liking when at the desk (while lounging on the bed or out, it's great). At some point in the near future, I'd like to add either a 20" iMac, or a 20/24" Dell widescreen LCD. The only reason I havn't so far, is that I can't decide between the two! :D

me too....

Hey, I want to add my two cents to this...

Well, here is my temporary work space. I say temporary because the Dell will soon be replaced by a PowerMac! Yay for me.

Okay, so what you see here is a collection of pics of my iBook set up as it usually is (mind you though that I cleared my desk off for these pics). The iBook is a 14in g3, 700mgz, with 192mb ram, a combo drive, and a 30gb hd, it has no airport so I have to tether it to my router which you can see is in a mess right now... In the background (or on the desk however you wish to look at it), is my PIII 550mhz, 512mb ram, DVD+-R/RW, zip 100, soundblaster audigy 2 ZS platinum, 12gb and 80 gb hds. The monitor is a dell/sony trinitron with a whole bunch a stickers and crap on it. The three speakers are the front speakers for my 5.1 set-up, and the plaque is just cool even though it is not up (got it when I had a better TV set up, now that my tv doesn't even have real pro logic, my pc gets it). To the left of the monitor is my atomic clock/thermometer, and behind that is my four port powered USB hub with a four port mini USB pluged into that (with now only a card reader for my canon 20d). To the right of the monitor is the tablet and my bamboo plant pot. The weird thing on top of the tower is a gift I was given once (it is officially called a mini longlegs as it is a short version of a series of similer design only taller and with longer legs...). The scanner is not hooked up yet cause I rarely use it for anything since I've gone digital.

Yes, my room is dark, and no I never use the dell any more since getting the ibook last month (used). Though not really my first mac, it is my first mac, and either the first or second computer I have bought... The dell isn't really mine kind of borrowing it for an extended time. The first computer I bought was an eMac for, at the time, my fiancee. Anyway, I don't get to used the eMac cause she took it after she left me... oh well, at least our son is adorable. I have used macs since as long as I can remember, unfortunitly got stuck with the dell though a while back (like 6 years ago). OSX really is a great OS compared to XP Home, I wonder why microsoft doesn't just port it (ha, just kidding).

Well, I know this really doesn't show of the iBook much, the dell and CRT really are monsterous next to the iBook, but I must say, that the iBook has been getting so much more love then the dell these days. In fact, now that my stupid online math class that only works on a PC with IE is over (failed unfortunitly), the only thing the dell even gets turned on for is to play music using iTunes (another great apple software product). It takes to much time to turn the dell on; like into the minutes, as in press power, go to the bathroom, the kitchen for a snack, check the mailbox, sit down, wait another couple minutes... I once timed it at over 8 minutes, then again ot only has like 1 GB left between the two HD's.

I just now noticed that my 40GB iPod Photo is not in the picture, infact neither is the dock or any of the cabling. Well that just goes to show how huridly I cleared off the desk....

I think I posted this picture of Shiva and my iBook once before, a long time ago, in the pet images thread, but I think it fits here in the iBook thread, too... ;)
