Oh, great, calling me a dick, because I notice a "surround sound system" that is placed so close together it might as well be mono? Then, after responding to ou in a civilised manner, you're calling me a dick. Seriously, I thought even the 13-year-olds around this place would be more mature than expecting everyone to be in awe of everything. You need to grow some skin.
I guess, though, that if you consider everyone that doesn't go "Ooh!, that is l33t!", "Man, your setup is awesome!!!!!!!" and so on a dick, so be it. 🙄

no i have no problem with criticism, you're remarks just seemed snobbish and dickish. Maybe things just got lost in translation, ill chalk it up to different sense of humors or mannerisms. . I wasn't saying you were a dick, i was saying you sounded like a dick and i even gave you the benefit of the doubt by asking if you were. Take it easy and relax. I also will just interject here that many other people have setups with less than optimal surround sound setups and you randomly feel the need to drill me on this. It just seems kinda odd especially after (from what i saw) was no ikea furniture or setup pics.
actually vizio is one of the better brands, according to the last consumer reports i read.
yeah i like vizio but im saying relatively speaking compared to brands like sony, samsung, etc... It's more of best bang for your buck kinda thing.

wow, you're ****ing crazy man. Are you seriously going to get in to a full fledged argument with me because you think my speakers are less than optimal? Im sorry my speakers keep you up at night, that certainly was not my intention. Perhaps i should inconvenience myself and reconfigure it to fit your specific requirements. Please, ill give you the dimensions on my setup and you can give me the optimal audio setup... What you need to understand is that i never posted my setup looking for awes. Seriously, you're talking to someone with a $700 tv and $150 surround setup, save it for the avsforum. My post was merely a compliment to the original ikea hacker thanking him for the tip to stack the Lack set, not to fish for compliments or ask for advice. I never said you we're a dick, i said or atleast implied that the tone and manner gave your opinion was stated as if you were a dick. I'm pretty sure the point of this forum is to post stuff and respond in a kind or helping manner, you did neither. You attacked me as if you we're better than me and tried to insult me. I don't care about what you like or what you think is best. Just to finish this off, the wall mounted speakers are close to the tv because A. i installed them in 10 minutes and B. i didn't want to hide the wires so having them close to the tv would help funnel the wires from the tv mount to the little tube down to the components. i never said you targeting me because my stuff was not ikea, you must have either read that wrong i made a huge typo. I said you randomly drilled me, which was odd since you really had no reason to be in the thread in the first place since you hadn't posted anything you had from ikea. That combined with the fact that the first post you had in the thread was first criticism, followed by insults was just odd. I never said that i was immune to criticism because things weren't ikea, that's completely the opposite. My tv stand and shelf above the tv are both from ikea, it's decent stuff if you're low on cash and that's the situation here.

Seriously, if you cannot see the irony insomeone dividing/spread the money they have for speakers on 4-6 speakers instead of, say, two, and then set it up like it was two speakers, getting the worst from both worlds, you really shoudl lighten up.

hey man, i just wanna say thanks for the idea. I managed to get it together despite making some drilling mistakes. I don't understand why they don't just sell it like this, it looks perfect and much more useful for typical tv viewing.
