This is just everyday phone use. Texts, phone calls, browsing and a little gaming. No Ipod use.

I wish I was getting that kind of battery life! What are you settings (bluetooth on or off, etc.)?

I've noticed that I seem to be getting another 18-24 hours worth of standby time since upgrading from 3.0 to 3.1.2. So now I'm getting around 4 hours usage and ~3 days standby per charge.

My settings are:
Bluetooth - Off
Location - Off
Fetch - Manual
3G - On
Wifi - On at home

I am not sure if this helps or not but, I have noticed my phone when I am at work since the ATT signal Edge or 3G isn't strong gets warm when I keep it in my pocket walking around. Not crazy warm, but it is noticable. I keep my phone now in my bookbag in the office at the front of the store where the reception is good. Phone is always cool and I feel like the battery may be better because the phone isn't always searching for a stronger signal. 3G is always 5 bars in my house. Just a theory.

After multiple conditionings...

WiFi: On
3G: On
Bluetooth: On
Default Brightness
Auto bright: On
Location: On
1 Push email account

This is just normal daily usage. Nothing extravagant.

Damn, I get just over double that and I thought my battery may be under performing, it was enough to warrant a replacement, I suggest you call Apple/take it to the Apple straight A-SAP!

Unfortunatly I forgot to take a screenshot but I remember looking at my phone yesterday at 45% at about 4 and seeing right at 4 and a half hours usage/8 hours standby. None of this was iPod only movies as I was traveling. I went through 2 3gs's before this one(due to misc problems) but this one has outstanding battery. I can get a solid 6-7 hours usage of regular usage(more with iPod). My settings are:

half brightness (auto brightness on
push off
fetch set to 1 hour
location on
3g on
wifi off
Bluetooth off

I think push e-mail is a big drain...moreso than push notifications.

I'm doing a test run now with push e-mail off. I'll post a screenshot when the battery is drained. Best numbers I've seen so far in my usage.

As of right now:
81% battery left
1hr 10min of usage - web surfing on wifi and playing with the voices app (fun stuff)
22hrs standby
No calls in this period

Push e-mail off - set to manual on 2 accounts, mobileme and yahoo
Push notifications on for Ping and a little bit of time with Beejive
3G off (no 3g service in my area)
Location Services off
Brightness 40-45% with auto brightness on.
Wifi - always on around my house - turning it off when I'm out and about

here is my phones battery life.

I have a brand new 32gb gs phone from 2 days ago and it lasts only 4 hours using wifi only. 99% of u posting ur stats seem to be getting better than this.

Push mail is on. But that's all. brightness 25%.

In response to the post above, as reported by apple in their "tech specs" states that i should get a minimal of 6 hours of usage and 250 hours of standy, i get about 1/3 of standby and only 2/3 of usage which i am not pleased with that. My one friend gets about 8 hours of usage and well in to a week of standby! And if you call my battery life normal then his must be superb! to bad he is only getting the normal battery life.
You don't get it very well.

Built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery
Charging via USB to computer system or power adapter
Talk time:
Up to 12 hours on 2G
Up to 5 hours on 3G
Standby time: Up to 300 hours

Internet use:
Up to 5 hours on 3G
Up to 9 hours on Wi-Fi
Video playback: Up to 10 hours
Audio playback: Up to 30 hours

So you can call for 12 hours on 2G, and than the battery dies.
You can call for 5 hours over 3G, and than the battery dies.
Your iPhone can be 300 hours in stand-by time, and than the battery dies (stand-by means without doing anything)

You can surf the web over 3G for 5 hours before the battery dies.
You can surf the web for 9 hours over WiFi, before the battery dies.
You can play a video for 10 hours, and than the battery dies (so if you watch a video over 3G than you also use internet, so than you will get even less than 5 hours)
You can listen to music for over 30 hours (with the screen turned off, of course) and than the battery dies.

It's not like you can do that all behind each other so you get like 80 hours of usage, lol.

I think if you asked Steve he'd go into a rant about how you JB'd your phone and thats why it's not working the 'apple way'.

Remove some of the addons from Cydia, maby some are using a little bit more CPU than normal.
